Hi, my name is Miriam, I'm from Slovakia. I am the mother of two adult children who have been studying and living abroad since they were 16, traveling is natural for us.
Two years ago I joined the workaway community and since then my life has become more interesting, more fulfilling, but at the same time more distant from my previous environment and people around me.
I love the feeling of absolute freedom, I have no attachment to material things, property, or money. I am not attached to one place, I can feel at home wherever where is nature and where there are people living in harmony with it.
For several years I wish to find a place that I would never want to leave. And in Italy, the country of my heart, I almost found such a place.

During the few weeks (more then 20 in total) spent as a workawayer in Italy, I had the opportunity to perform various activities, e.g. trimming palm trees, bushes, and trees, cutting bamboo, cleaning the garden, storing wood for the winter, helping with roof repairs, helping with installing a wood stove, organizing things in the warehouse, painting the walls, helping with saffron harvesting and also I spent a beautiful time with small children in a family... and various other small activities.
It makes me happy to do volunteer work, I can help with anything, especially outdoors, but not excluding indoor work (I prefer to avoid cooking :)...but I love tasting new flavors and dishes and I love watching others prepare them). And at the same time have the opportunity to practice my Italian.
It's fascinating to me to be a part of other people's lives in their homes

Now I have a job in Slovakia, but I want to travel to Italy asap and spend time as a workawayer there again.
I miss this a lot...

I like to spend time in nature, I love mountain hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing, sometimes running.
I don´t like to buy new things, I like to recycle old clothes and renovate old furniture.
I also need to be in an inspiring and creative artistic environment.
And great music must be a part of my every day. And I´ll never forget the people who showed me good music (there are only a few of them in my life).
I love children and animals.
I enjoy being able to drive the car long and far.
We need very few things to live. What is important is what we do not see, only what we feel.
The feeling of being useful to others is one of the most beautiful things for me.
