Hello ! I'm Michelle, I live in France and I'm passionate about travel, languages and cultures. I have a degree in languages and tourism and I mainly worked in the travel and tourism industry, in hotels. I'm particularly interested in sustainable tourism. I speak French, Spanish and English.
I've had my first Workaway experience in France, taking care of horses. In 2024, I've been backpacking for 3 months in Spain and Morocco and I had the opportunity to take part in other workaway projects : volunteering in a dog shelter in Spain, participating in a coliving in Spain as well.
I also voluntered for 2 months in France with an NGO that aims to protect the ocean against plastic pollution. We were picking trash on the beaches and going to schools to make children aware about the importance of taking care of the ocean. I love being involved in projects, giving a hand and experiencing life in community. I love the idea of meeting other people and sharing a part of their life, discovering new things and ways of living. Also, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty ! I'm hardworking and I'm always implicated 100% in everything I do :)

Basically, I just love nature, discovering and experimenting different ways of life, spiritual practices, movement (I looove yoga and dance, even though I'm not an expert at it haha), also outdoor and adventures activies (hiking, sometimes climbing and canyoneering, would love to try paragliding as well!). I'm not an expert in any of these fields, but I'm driven by a passion for curiosity and discovering !

This year, from November 2025 and without an end date, I'm discovering Canary Islands. I've been in Tenerife for more than 20 days now, enjoying the amazing landscapes of the island, and I have also volunteered for 10 days in dog shelter, close to the city of Arico. I have no fixed plans for the rest of my journey, but I would like to get involved in meaningful projects, being close to nature and enjoying true human connection. Places where I can feel more grounded, grow and experiment a slower (but not inactive) life. I also plan to take some time here to deepen my yoga practice and my spiritual journey. I look forward to meeting you :)

Quais são suas habilidades?
I studied languages and tourism, so I'm fluent in English and Spanish. In 2022 and 2023, I worked in an eco-hotel. My work was really versatile and I developed different skills (management, communication on website and social media, help in the kitchen, cleaning tasks...).
I've had workaway experiences with animals, which I love.
I curious and adaptable, I love discovering new things !

In my free time, I love dancing (especially Salsa and Bachata, even though I'm a beginner), playing and listening to music, travelling, outdoor activites, spending time in nature... I also did horse-riding during 7 years when I was yonger and I still really love horses, and animals in general. I also really enjoy playing board games and reading.

After two weeks there, it’s my turn to share my experience and to make you want to discover this little paradise. It’s a special place, not easy to describe. Time there passes differently. I stayed at the house for two weeks and I have this strange feeling that I stayed too little, but at the same time that I experienced a lot of things. This… read more place is a mix of intensity and serenity. Intensity because we meet a lot of new people, we take part in different projects and activities, we feel various emotions ; serenity because we find there (and in Cullera in general) a sense of « sweet life » that is hard to find nowadays.

It’s not evident to describe the missions that you will do there because it’s based on proactive help and it also changes according to time and to the people that animate this community. The house doesn’t stop with its walls, it expends beyond. More than a physical space, it’s a place that attracts warm people, who also have projects in which you could take part too. To give you an idea, during my stay, I had the occasion to take part in practical aspects of common life (cleaning, cooking…), we collected unsold products in a bakery, I could pick up trash on the beach, I took part in some construction tasks in a house of the neighborhood… Of course, there is also all these little moments shared around good meals, games, conversations, or even swims in the cold waters of the sea.

I would just add also that if you are an introvert or can sometimes get overwhelmed and need a little time and space for yourself, just know that it’s not a problem, from my experience at least. Everyone here is kind and respects each other’s needs and space. When you travel, it’s hard sometimes to connect with people that you meet briefly and it’s often frustrating, but even if we don’t always have the oppotunity to have deep talks, I think that you can still feel the kindness and sincerity of people that comes here, simply because this place attracts this kind of persons. I didn’t have the chance to meet Allan in person, but I don’t doubt that to create a house like this, he surely embodies all of that as well.

If you are still hesitating, this message is the sign that you should give it a try ! You will certainly learn something about yourself and others. Thank you Allan for this opportunity and see you soon, I hope :)
