I'm Meg, from Scotland, I really love things that pull out the creative/playful part of me and make me feel alive - so being outside, making things, hiking, music, swimming in the sea/lakes, talking to interesting people.

I don't know how to say more without sounding incredibly generic (I feel incredibly lucky to have the chance to move around the world a bit, meet people and learn more about ways of living other than the city life I grew up with, and being so in love with the mountains and sea in Scotland makes me really excited to explore the landscapes of other places).

I've spent a fair bit of my life living in various countries, so I'm pretty confident in being adaptable to the place I end up :)

Very up for learning whatever language is spoken by my hosts! My Spanish is conversational but definitely not fluent. Of course also happy to speak/teach English/German to non-speakers

Quais são suas habilidades?

I'm not an engineer, carpenter or agriculturalist by training (I'm a biologist), but I am healthy, fairly strong, able-bodied and pick things up fast. I've spent some time on farms (I spent one summer doing a research project on compost, and another on a farm in Switzerland), doing building projects (making theatre sets and props, building treehouses in a forest occupation, a workaway making live-in vans), and if you want some yeast cultivated I've got you covered (this is only funny to me because of my PhD, but I can explain) ;)

Aside from that, all the regular housework, cooking, baking, weeding things I'm more than happy to do

I had such a great time at the hostal - definitely one of the best workaways I have done :) the team are super lovely, like a little family, and my Spanish really improved spending a few weeks with them. All of the guests who stay love the place too, so it's a nice job, looking after them. I wish I could have stayed longer!

I had a really lovely 3 weeks in Valparaiso!! The hostel is very laid back, with some long-term guests plus the volunteers, so in many ways it feels like a big shared house where some of the residents clean and do laundry in exchange for not paying rent, which is super nice.
