Hello!

We are looking for WorkAway experiences starting in spring 2026 in the South and/or East of Europe.

We are Marie (33) & Edward (33) from Belgium. We have a beautiful baby boy, Kasper (born in february 2025). We love traveling and have spend a year and a half going all over the world. During this trip we did quite a lot of volunteering, sometimes through WorkAway and sometimes outside of it. We love the exchange of knowledge, the new experiences, and getting to meet new people through this platform. Currently we are settled back in Belgium for the last three years but we are feeling the urge to go out into the world again, this time with our little offspring :)

During our travels we worked as volunteers on permaculture farms, built on aircrete domes, and did landscaping for a while in Australia, helped manage an NGO in the social economy in Cambodia and helped out on start-up glamping business in Guatemala. We would love to help out on (and have experience in) building projects, garden maintenance, babysitting, helping out with cooking, and much more. Both of us are creative in our own way. Ward loves to paint and Marie loves to make prints using linoleum and ink.

We are both grounded and easygoing people. We don't smoke, and we usually only drink in social settings.

Ward speaks Dutch, English, French and is in the process of learning Spanish. He is a social worker and logistics assistant. He ran a youthhouse, a bar and an Airbnb. He has an amazing talent of bringing a smile to everyone's face. He loves making music, working with his hands and appreciates the small things in life. He has a ton of creative ideas and is quick to pick up new skills. He also worked in hotels in Turkey and Morroco for 2 years, was a snowboard instructor in France and works as a gardener on his days off.

Marie speaks Dutch, English, French and a bit of Spanish. She is an urban planner and sociologist and lived in Copenhagen, Brussels and Budapest. She is quick with her mind but also has a hands-on mentality. She's an organiser and a planner with an eye for detail. She loves to make linoprints and think about interior design. She's pretty good at graphic designs voor flyers, posters, ... and she's always in for a boardgame :)
