Hello out there,

We are Marc and Mirj, a Swiss couple who loves to explore the world. Currently, we find ourselves at the beginning of one of our grandest adventures: we've taken some time off (Marc completely, and I, Mirj, still work 20% online) to travel the world, meet people from all walks of life, engage in cultural exchanges, and simply have a fantastic time. This is also the reason why we cannot currently host anyone, as we've turned our home into a mobile one.

We are two open-minded individuals who highly value intercultural exchange. We often try to escape mass tourism, as we are particularly fascinated by the authentic lives of locals. In our leisure time, we are incredibly active, engaging in various outdoor activities such as hiking, kite-surfing, fishing (Marc's hobby), skiing, snowboarding, and much more.

Both of us grew up speaking German. I, Mirj, speak English more or less fluently and am eager to use my language skills more extensively. Currently, I'm also learning Italian. Marc speaks Italian well and is working on refreshing his English. Additionally, we have basic knowledge of French.

Marc works in Switzerland as a carpenter and project planner, making him the practical half of our duo. I, Mirj, come from a graphic background and currently work in the marketing department of a small alternative medicine company. Together, we complement each other perfectly and enjoy taking on projects as a team. I bring creativity, while Marc brings practical skills and humor.

We both have a passion for gardening. While Marc has the greener thumb, I have a soft spot for animals. I, Mirj, have already gained experience as a Workawayer as an individual and have wonderful memories from those experiences. Marc has also participated in a Workaway project with me, where we even returned to a host to visit them again.

Furthermore, we both enjoy cooking and eating, always eager to try new things. We prefer to consume food grown in our own garden, with a motto of healthy and fresh eating. Here it's probalby good to mentioning that I, Mirj, do not eat meat. We believe that sharing meals is a wonderful way to connect cultures and make new friends. Therefore, we would be delighted to sit down at the table with you.

Now, we are on the lookout for new adventures around the globe and look forward to meeting you. We are ready for the next exciting leg of our journey and can't wait to meet new people and create unforgettable memories together.

We are always keen on learning languages, with our current focus being on English and Italian. We are also happy to share our knowledge of German if there is interest, although we are not formally trained teachers.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Both of us are naturally curious and enjoy continuously learning new things. You can utilize us for various tasks, both hands-on and related to gardening, working with animals, and more. We are equally open to new experiences, whether it's working behind a bar, in a lodge, or caring for guests – all of these pique our interest.

Our skills are as described. Marc works as a carpenter and planner in Switzerland, which provides him with craftsmanship and a green thumb that he enjoys using in his free time.

I work in marketing and am willing to provide support if there is interest. This could involve tasks such as generating social media posts for a project. In my free time, I enjoy painting and being active outdoors. I love to be physically involved and assist Marc with hands-on projects. I'm always eager to pitch in. I've also enjoyed working with animals in the past, particularly horses.

In general, we are open to a wide range of tasks and look forward to making a meaningful contribution.
