Heyoo I'm Mara:)
I'm from Switzerland and since summer 2025 taking a gap year after finishing school in june. In a few month this year will be over and I'll start precollegue for arts. I'm really excited for it but I could also go on with taking gap years for ever.
In September I did an Internship at a homelessshelter where I got to know a copletely different angle of view on to our society. After that I did interrail through neighbouring countries and did my first workaway in Andalusia Spain, where I got a little insight into selfsufficency and helped with gardening work. The second workaway I did was in march on a cultural house boat in Berlin. I helped with renovating the old merchandise ship into a cultural space.
Rightnow I'm working in a café and restaurant in my hometown and preparing for my next travel from may to july in central america, where I would love to do a next workaway!!

I would love to learn Spanish. At the moment I'm practicing the basics with my spanish colleague and I'm planing to attend a language course in Panama. If there is interest, I would be happy to teach German.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I am working in a café and restaurant, so I have experience in hospitality and working behind a bar. I love the socialness of this job and the work in a team.
Last year I completed an internship at a homeless shelter, where my main responsibilities were cleaning and housekeeping. During the housboat renovation in March I learned a lot of handy skills like working with a sablesaw or an anglegrinder. I'm quite a handy person and like to get my hands dirty.
I'm a member of a feminist collective and am in the social media team, which is why I have some knowledge about making content.
I also have experience in gardening and farm work, babysitting and tutoring which I did as part-time jobs during school. I have helped out in several kids camps, as a cook or kids instructor.
I'm a motivated, reliable and collaborative worker and always hungry to learn!
