Hello everyone!

We're Riven and Mac.

We're an easy going and adventurous couple excited to travel, connect with others, and help out wherever we go.

We're both passionate about mindful, eco-conscious living and our main motivations are surfing, health and wellness, connection to nature, community, art, and growth! We're both avid surfers and are excited to explore new waves alongside the cultures and communities that surround them.

We love to connect with new people and alternative ways of life, both open minded, energetic, and creative, we love to take on new tasks and learn!
We're new to workaway but both have lots of experience travelling independently through places such as Central America, Africa, Europe, Sri Lanka, Canada, and the US.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Riven
I have experience in the adventure tourism industry having spent the last 4 summers surf instructing (as a certified ISA Level 1 Surf Instructor) and coaching Snowboarding through the winter seasons (CASI Level 3 certified)

I am creative minded having successfully sold many of my paintings/artworks.
Although my experience in construction is limited I have experience working with wood/carpentry from designing and manufacturing furniture when I was at school. I have also spent a couple of weeks helping my uncle (who's a carpenter) build his house. I'm an incredibly 'handy' individual and have plenty labor experience from my time spent working with an Events Crewing Company whilst completing my degree. I am used to 'hands on' physical work, experience gardening, happy and familiar working with power tools, a very quick learner and happy to work independently or as part of a team.

I have heaps of experience working in hospitality, from hosting in Chalets and hotels in the French Alps to working in retail and restaurants/bars around the world. I have a little experience in Social media marketing where myself and a friend were put in charge of updating the surf school Social Media (Tofino Surf School). Through my work as an Artist I have experience creating a website to promote my own work as well as helping to update the website for the surf school I'm currently employed at.

As a kid growing up I've always been surrounded by animals, specifically dogs, so am happy and familiar with dog/animal care and the routine that goes with that.

Mac
Outside of surfing my other main passions are writing and yoga.
I have experience surf instructing and teaching a bit of yoga (200Hr Hatha Teacher Training Certificate), and some of my personal projects include travel writing and poetry. (moodylou.com). I also have experience working with several businesses to create content and write marketing copy (social media, email newsletters, blog content), through which I've also designed and maintained websites (Squarespace and WIX).

Health and wellness are another passion of mine and I've spent the last two summers working in a small, local organic health food store and love to cook healthy nourishing meals!

I enjoy hands-on work, I have limited experience with construction but I'm quite adaptable and handy, I have experience on farms growing up and recently built a camper set up in my van suited to a 5 month van trip! I've also participated in several work trades, one of which I worked with a family for nearly two years helping with property maintenance, house cleaning and care, dog walking and dog sitting, private yoga classes, and more.
