About me:

Hello! My name is Laís, I'm 38 years old, and I'm ready to embark on my first volunteer adventure with Workaway. After many years dedicated to the family business, I feel it's time to rediscover myself and explore the world. I believe that volunteer exchange is the perfect way to combine learning, personal and professional growth, and the opportunity to meet new cultures and amazing people.

Passions and Skills:

Passionate about travel and new cultures, I've explored various countries (USA, Peru, Argentina, Italy, Greece, etc.) and I'm looking for new adventures through Workaway. I'm communicative, organized, proactive, and a fast learner. I love animals and have experience with dogs (I take care of Manu, a Maltese) and cats. Nature and outdoor activities energize me, and soccer is one of my passions. I have experience caring for children (two nephews) and I love providing them with new experiences. I'm looking for a host who values cultural exchange and allows me to contribute with my skills.

Professional Experience:

Graduated in Business Administration from my State University, I worked for years at my family's pizzeria in Praia do Francês, a tourist destination in Alagoas. There, I gained experience in various areas, including customer service, cashier, bar, and restaurant management. This experience provided me with valuable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, and the ability to handle different situations.

What I Can Offer:

I'm excited to learn new languages and skills, and to contribute to your project in the best way possible. I can help with animal care, childcare, household chores, and even cook delicious meals (with a recipe book!). Most importantly, I'm a person willing to learn and work on new experiences. Quais são suas habilidades?

I am a multifaceted person with a strong sense of initiative. My skills come from my previous experiences in customer service and bar work, which makes me a communicative person capable of interacting with different people. I have experience in restaurant management, including cashier and stock organization. I am also curious and like to solve problems on my own. As a child, I did some small home repairs, such as painting walls and taking care of plants, so as an adult, I believe I am also quite capable. I worked in a dynamic and tourist environment, which made me flexible and able to adapt to different situations. And most importantly: I am not afraid to learn new things and I am always willing to acquire new skills.

By the way: I believe I'm good company to have in a work environment or even at home to play some checkers, backgammon, and cards. Besides, I enjoy running, walking, playing soccer, watching soccer, and practicing some other sports even if I'm not that skilled.
