Hi! My names Lachie, I’m 22 and I’m from Australia. I decided to take a gap year off my medicine studies this year to explore new horizons around the world, with a focus on meeting new people, cultures, and religions. I’ve meditated in Buddhist monasteries, hiked to Everest base camp, hitchhiked all through Iceland, all while maintaining a strong focus of interacting with those that can teach me about life!

Recently I’ve wanted to extend this search through a more intimate long term working opportunity. Many people have vouched for work away throughout my travels so I figured now’s the time!

Predominantly I would love to use this opportunity to practise my French, (currently A2 -B1 level)

I play piano, row, meditate, paint, and bring the unique Australian charm.

I’m super excited to get my hands dirty and get to know you!

I want to learn French because I aspire to work for Doctors Without Borders / medecins sans frontieres when I am a qualified doctor. There are many areas, specifically in Africa, with a need for French speakers and thus I see French as a worthwhile endeavour in order to work in these places when I am older. Therefore the more I can learn now the better!

Quais são suas habilidades?

ive worked two Workaway in France so far and have been exposed to all the different wonderful aspects of gardening in France.

I’ve tutored and coached children, young teens, and early adults from 10-22, boys and girls, across medicine, debating and rowing.

I’ve spent 4 years working in hospitals as a medical student so I have medical training. As a result I am comfortable speaking with all sorts of people from all walks of life.

I’ve spent months camping on my own outside so I’m super comfortable with living basically, being creative, and being outdoors all day with a smile.

If you’ll allow a few pauses here and there je peux parler Français avec vous.

My passion for sustainable gardening and living is growing and that’s what I want to seek out!

I am not strictly a vegetarian while travelling however it is something I’m working towards and I am passionate about reducing my meat consumption. I would fit in well in a vegetarian/vegan household.

I love a good dance, cup of tea and playing with kids.
