Hey everybody! We're Kim and Atakan, a couple from Germany who've left their office jobs behind to finally get back outside and reconnect with nature. Atakan is a mechanical engineer and Kim is a media producer and educator—it's time for us to look at beautiful mountains and lakes rather than screens all day.

We highly value our health, which is why we work out regularly and prefer organic and unprocessed ingredients for our food. That is one of the reasons why we're so keen to learn more about organic farming. We dream about growing our own healthy foods in the future and having our own chickens and cows.

We've also traveled to many countries and always enjoy learning more about the culture and the people. Exchanging funny, interesting, and suspenseful stories about travel experiences is the best! Our favorite countries so far are New Zealand for Kim and Iceland for Atakan. Since we're new to Canada, that may change soon! :)

Kim: I love to cook and bake and to try out new recipes—it's my meditation. Teaching each other new secret recipes is something I'm very much looking forward to! If I had to break it down, I'd say my specialties are Turkish köfte (yummy meatballs), Italian lasagna, and carrot cake. Atakan's Turkish roots helped me discover the delicious Turkish cuisine. My German roots inspire most of my cake and pastry dishes—I might be feeding into clichés here. Outside the kitchen, I love to draw, plan trips with my family and friends, and play volleyball. Also, I would always be your passionate movie buddy—I love watching movies!

Atakan: Barista by day, salsa dancer by night. Since I really enjoy eating burgers, I'm usually on a quest to find the best burger in the city we're visiting. In recent years, I found my true passion in the Wim Hof Method and became an instructor. It's a combination of a breathing technique, cold exposure, and mindset/meditation. Therefore, my favorite activities include going to the sauna and ice bathing. If you're interested, I'm happy to share my knowledge anytime! :) On calmer days, I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

We're quick and passionate learners, and we're looking forward to having amazing experiences together with you!

Quais são suas habilidades?

Kim: I did work & travel in New Zealand before where I worked on a vegetable farm and in a fruit tree nursery. Therefore, I have experience in planting and harvesting on a big scale. I grew up in a village and my family has a big garden with ducks, chickens and a cat. They still call on Atakan and me to visit and help them out with weeding or pruning. Enjoying a good meal after a day full of work together is the best! Usually I prepare those meals, so I‘d be happy to do the same for you.

Atakan: I have background in mechanical engineering with a focus on development and research, and I'm always excited to tackle a good challenge. I thrive on thinking outside the box and love bringing new ideas to life, whether through a 3D model or an innovative mechanical solution. Beyond engineering, I have a passion for salsa dancing and the energizing practice of cold plunges. I'm keen to share my experiences, whether it’s teaching a salsa move, guiding a cold plunge, or brainstorming a creative solution together.

We both enjoy being creative, such as sculpting with clay and painting it later, drawing on canvases or color paint our old furniture. If you’re seeking inspiration or fresh ideas, we would love to help out! We‘re not afraid to get our hands dirty, learn new skills, and work hard.
