Hi everyone! We're Kendra and Josh. We met and fell in love in Cardiff, Wales in 2022, and ventured back to Kendra's homeland in late 2023. We love doing everything together, from travelling to trying new food places, playing sport, working on projects and learning new languages. We thought what better way to experience new things together than by trying Workaway?! We're also both really driven to live a balanced, happy & healthy lifestyle, meaning cooking nourishing meals for ourselves, practicing yoga and mindfulness, and getting out for walks in nature as much as possible. Lastly, we're avid animal lovers - we both grew up with lots of different cats and dogs and love being around animals big and small! Since heading down South last year, we’ve been living in the beautiful seaside community of New Brighton in Christchurch. We are embarking on a trip back to the UK in June, so we would love to experience some more local Workaway adventures in May before we go.

Hi, I'm Kendra! I'm originally from Tauranga and have spent my adult life living between here and the UK/Europe. I love meeting new people and facilitating connections, just as much as I love exchanging knowledge with others. Food is the key to my heart, and I love cooking, learning new dishes and hearing culinary stories passed down generationally. I love kids, and have a real knack for getting along with and looking after them. This is a real interest for me with Workaway - perhaps being part of a family with young children to help look after. I'd also love to learn more about the outdoors and gardening/permaculture lifestyle. In our year living in Christchurch, I’ve been heavily involved in my community, babysitting for several different families, tutoring English to high school students, and running a business networking group with over 250 members. I also volunteer as a Girl Guides Leader, as an activities coordinator for Recreate NZ, and also as a Driver’s Assistant for Age Concern Canterbury. I am self employed, currently running my two businesses: K.E. Photography, and K.E. Creative. I also work remotely as the Website Coordinator for Creative Bay of Plenty. This work is all flexible and on my own time, meaning it's a great balance with being able to dive headfirst into different Workaway opportunities.

Hi, I'm Josh. I'm originally from the Forest of Dean in southwest England and my heritage is Welsh. I love to travel, and I have spent the last year and a bit living here in NZ with my partner Kendra.
I have a background in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation Management but have been working in different roles since arriving in New Zealand, firstly as a gardener for a retirement village, and most recently as a furniture mover for a home staging company. I relish outside physical work, and I have a real interest in learning more about landscaping, incorporating my knowledge and love for native flora and fauna, into the creative side of things.
I have partaken in Workaways before, during my travels in India, Thailand and Vietnam and the experiences were life-changing. I really enjoy cooking feasts for family, and listening to / telling stories. I’m always willing to get stuck into different things and love to challenge myself!

We both have Welsh blood running through our veins, and therefore have a real interest in learning more of the language. We are able to share a few words and phrases if people are interested! Kendra studied Spanish in high school for a number of years, and is confident in sharing her knowledge of different words and phrases. We'd both love to practice speaking more Spanish with others and learning more Te Reo Māori.

Quais são suas habilidades?
Kendra has extensive knowledge in marketing and communications, with her Bachelor of Communication Majoring in Public Relations and Minoring in Media Studies. She can help with management and marketing of a small business, including business strategy, design and written content, and more. Kendra has run her own photography business for the last 7+ years (www.kendraedenphotography.com) so would love to share some knowledge around photography skills. She also has her Advanced Certificate in Piano so can share some musical skills too! She previously worked as an English tutor for students ages 5-18, which she found super rewarding.
Josh's passion lies with all things wildlife. He has just completed his Master's in Wildlife and Conservation Management, and loves sharing his knowledge with others. If you go on a walk with him in nature, he'll be sharing lots of interesting information about the different kinds of wildlife, including trees, birds and insects. Back in Wales, he volunteered with RSPB to teach people (mostly kids) about Barn Owls and how to dissect matter to determine their prey type and hunting patterns. Kendra also helped as a volunteer here. Josh loves to learn, and has a particular interest in all things outdoors, including carpentry, building and garden work. He'd love to share what he knows and to also learn from others. Lastly, he has a background as a bartender and barista, so can make some yummy drinks.

We're just super excited to experience Workaway together, and to see places in NZ that neither of us have seen. We're keen to get out of our comfort zone and learn new things at this stage of our life, before we settle into the next journey of having a family. We're also both not tied to any one religion - we prefer to see ourselves as spiritual in that we're open to learning about lots of different ways of being and experiencing this beautiful world.
