I'm Kendra!

I'm a big history and nature nerd, with an eagerness to get a feel for the unique local flavour of new places. I've spent years working as an archaeologist throughout western Canada, and I'm used to frequently being on the road and working hard out in the dirt and dust. The more time I can spend outside, close to nature, the better! I'm hoping to be able to check out some European archaeological digs, but in the meantime, happy to explore!

I'm fairly sociable and always happy to check out new food and drink and meet new people, but I do also appreciate the opportunity to have some peace and quiet and solitude in order to write and decompress. I'm fond of all animals, and have thoroughly enjoyed dog-walking and

I come from a musical background, with formal training in singing, cello and piano, and would welcome a chance to brush up on my musical skills again.

I'm hoping to explore the history, archaeology, and local wildlife and ecology of wherever I go, and learn new birds! And, of course, to sample local culinary traditions.

I would like to improve on my very limited Spanish and French knowledge. I have taken formal lessons to an intermediate level in both but have had little opportunity to actually practise!

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have a bachelor's degree in anthropology (sub-specialization of archaeology) and history, with a focus on Canadian First Nations and fur trade history, and have been working as an archaeologist throughout western Canada for nearly a decade. I am quite strong and very comfortable doing manual labour outside in all sorts of weather conditions.

I also have a decade's worth of experience as a salesperson in antique shops, handling eclectic customers and merchandise alike. Part of my duties have included input on managing a social media presence for a small business.

Outside of formal education and work experience, I come from a classical music background, with training in voice as well as cello and piano (though I haven't practised the latter two in quite awhile!).


I am not very well suited to childcare.

I also have Basic First Aid.
