I am a Cambridge University graduate and have spent most of my career in senior British Council roles outside the UK: in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, working in education, training, human rights and cultural relations. I am a strong believer in the power of people-to-people links to bring understanding and build peace.

I have taught English around the world and have extensive experience in communications, advocacy, fundraising and not-for-profit governance.

I am English mother tongue and also speak French and Italian fluently; I can teach both these languages to adults and children. I have some Spanish and Portuguese. I am interested in improving my level in these languages and learning Japanese.

In London where I am based I am involved with an outdoor puppet theatre and a child literacy project, alongside volunteering for the Red Cross and for Crisis, the UK charity campaigning to end homelessness.

In 2022 I travelled to Ghana on a business development assignment for Dream Big Ghana NGO. Later in the year I supported a female empowerment organisation in the Siwa oasis in Egypt by mentoring on strategy and fundraising efforts. In early 2023 I taught English on an eco-tourism project in the Galapagos Islands and advised them on marketing and improving the visitor experience. I also provided coaching on presentations in English. In late 2023, I undertook two assignments in Senegal: firstly in Dakar, teaching English and Italian to children and adults, and then in Saint Louis where I supported a charitable foundation on fundraising.

I am interested in a workaway stay in autumn 2025 in north America and also in 2026, open to any destination.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have 25 years of international experience, mostly leading teams, and designing and managing programmes and projects. My main fields of expertise are fundraising, teaching, communications and advocacy, mostly on behalf of not for profits in the education field. I am a fluent public speaker with experience of teaching English to adults and children. I can also teach French and Italian. I have experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors. I am media trained.
