🌿 Hello!
We’re Maxime and Jenna, a curious, dynamic, and kind-hearted couple, ready for a great human adventure in New Zealand for several months starting at the end of August!
🔍 What we’re looking for: a meaningful experience, genuine connections, and the chance to lend a hand in a cheerful and positive atmosphere! 🌞

👩‍🌾 A little about us:
Jenna, 28 years old, trained anthropologist and former Red Cross worker. I'm passionate about reading, nature walks, swimming… and plants!
I love gardening — it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I’m also a very hands-on person and not afraid of manual work — I grew up with a dad who’s a carpenter, so tools don’t scare me!
I’m a fast learner and very motivated. I also have experience in childcare, homework help, French tutoring, hospitality, and strawberry picking.
Maxime, 29 years old, roofer for the past 3 years, passionate about field hockey, online games, and drawing.
I’m a quiet person, but always motivated no matter the task. I have solid experience in several construction areas: carpentry (I’m certified), roofing (working on roofs), and basic electrical work.
I enjoy hands-on work and love sharing my skills as much as I enjoy learning new ones.

We both enjoy working with our hands, being in nature, caring for animals, cooking, DIY projects, and learning new things.
We’re resourceful, respectful, and always ready to help — whether it’s with a project or around the table (we’d love to introduce you to some Belgian dishes! 🍽️)

🌍 Why Workaway?
Jenna already had the chance to do a few Workaways in Australia a few years ago and had a fantastic time.
Now, we want to experience New Zealand in a different, more authentic way — by connecting with locals and meeting other travelers too.
We’re curious, open-minded, and excited to contribute to your projects:

Nous sommes Maxime et Jenna, un couple curieux, dynamique et bienveillant, prêts à vivre une belle aventure humaine en Nouvelle-Zélande pendant plusieurs mois, à partir de la fin août !
🔍 Ce que nous cherchons : une expérience enrichissante, de belles rencontres, et l'occasion de donner un coup de main dans la bonne humeur ! 🌞

👩‍🌾 Un peu sur nous :
Jenna, 28 ans, anthropologue de formation, ancienne travailleuse à la Croix-Rouge, passionnée de lecture, de balades en nature, de natation… et de plantes !
J’adore jardiner, c’est un vrai passe-temps pour moi. Je suis une personne manuelle, qui n’a pas peur de se retrousser les manches — j’ai grandi avec un papa menuisier, donc les outils ne me font pas peur !
J’apprends vite et je suis super motivée. J’ai aussi de l’expérience dans la garde d’enfants, l’aide aux devoirs, les cours de français, la restauration, ainsi que la récolte de fraises.
Maxime, 29 ans, couvreur depuis 3 ans, passionné de hockey sur gazon, de jeux en ligne et de dessin.
Discret mais toujours motivé, je suis à l’aise dans plusieurs domaines du bâtiment : menuiserie (je suis diplômé), couverture (travaux sur les toits), et électricité.
J’aime beaucoup le travail manuel, et je prends plaisir à partager mes compétences autant qu’à en découvrir de nouvelles.

Nous aimons tous les deux le travail manuel, la nature, les animaux, cuisiner, bricoler, et surtout apprendre de nouvelles choses.
On est débrouillards, respectueux, et toujours partants pour aider — que ce soit autour d’un projet ou d’un bon repas (on se ferait un plaisir de vous faire découvrir un petit plat belge 🍽️) !

🌍 Pourquoi le Workaway ?
Jenna a déjà eu l’occasion de faire des Workaways en Australie il y a quelques années, et ce fut une expérience très positive.
Aujourd’hui, nous avons envie, ensemble, de découvrir la Nouvelle-Zélande autrement : en nous immergeant dans le quotidien local, en rencontrant des personnes du coin, mais aussi d’autres voyageurs.
Nous sommes curieux, ouverts, et impatients de participer activement à vos projets :
🏡 Ferme, jardin, rénovation, garde d’enfants ou d’animaux, aide en auberge… on est partants !

Quais são suas habilidades?

(JENNA) I studied political science and have a master's degree in Anthropology. I also write and read a lot.
I'm fluent in French and English (English is more difficult for me to write).
In the past, I've used Workaway to work on farms in Australia. I had the chance to learn woodworking, harvesting, feeding animals, and more.
In my current life, my last job was with the Red Cross for almost 2 years. My role was to help foreign people in need in a Red Cross center, and more specifically to help young unaccompanied minors with everyday life and administrative formalities. I have a great rapport with children and teenagers :)

(MAXIME) I hold a diploma in carpentry, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to work for three different companies, which allowed me to develop skills in carpentry, electrical work, and roofing.
For almost three years now, I’ve been working as a roofer.
I have solid experience in the construction field.
In addition to that, I speak fluent French and have a good command of English — although I’d love to improve even more. This trip to New Zealand is also a great opportunity for me to strengthen my English skills!
