Hello! My name is Jason, from the cold north of Canada (with lots of snow and temperatures that sometimes dip below -40 degrees 🥶). At the time of writing, I’m traveling long-term in South America. I’m friendly, easygoing, respectful, and responsible. I don’t party or smoke, and I enjoy a calm, active lifestyle. In my free time, I like reading, learning new skills, going to the gym, hiking, and spending time in nature. I’m currently learning Spanish and am very motivated to improve my conversational skills through daily use and immersion.

After traveling across Southeast Asia, I decided to continue exploring other parts of the world. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, which led me to Guatemala, where I lived with a homestay family while studying the language. They became like a second family to me, and it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life! That experience is what inspired me to join Workaway; with the goal of meeting locals, immersing myself in new cultures, practicing languages, and contributing meaningfully wherever I can.

I bring a wide range of practical skills. I have previous experience with manual labor such as carpentry (including building and renovating houses), painting, gardening, landscaping, and general maintenance. I also have strong digital and creative skills: I’ve built multiple websites, managed advertising campaigns (Google Ads and Meta Ads), and I’m proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and more). I also have run sales for a multinational company and trained representatives on customer service. I enjoy problem-solving, adapting to new environments, and learning new skills quickly.

I’m happy to help wherever I’m needed! I work well independently or as part of a team, and value clear communication, mutual respect, and cultural exchange.

I am proficient with Adobe's Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and more) and can help with graphic design and other creative projects. I'm adaptable and pick up new skills fast.
