Allo, my name is Ilija, (pronounced il-ee-ya) I am a Carpenter/ joiner by profession. I am from the UK as that is where I was born and raised. My biggest motivation right now is to take myself on a adventure to understand/explore my mind and body and the amazing Planet I live on.

The skills I have.

I would say I am a pro-active person, I am quite happy at giving anything a try, therefore I have acquired some useful life skills, which I believe I can apply well when volunteering. I like to doing things/making things, whether it's cooking, cleaning, painting, building, or making hostel beds to garden beds I am happy to do most things.

I am a qualified carpenter and spent 5 years in the trade. I would like to say I am practical with my hands. I have used my skills for other workaway hosts by building and constructing windows, doors, bookcases and more out of wood. All of which I have enjoyed doing. Power tools are something I really like working with. I would be happy doing a range of manual jobs like, Gardening, digging, painting, plastering, cooking, and anything else. I enjoy very much living off grid and like most of all to be surrounded by nature. I believe I show a strong interest and enthusiasm for anything I do. I am also very sociable and like to have a laugh. I have been learning spanish whilst travelling in Latin America and have a grip of the language. But I would not say I can speak Spanish fluently yet. But I am an enthusiastic speaker.

I have done bar work before, and have good people skills. I am a confident person who likes both time to himself and to be social. I love having conversations with people and feel very comfortable in social environments.

Where I feel I can be most of use, is applying my skills and knowledge for a off grid community in nature. Where I can apply my self to construct, maintain, and help somewhere with good ambitions grow.

I am very interested in exploring new opportunities for volunteering and hope to try a little of everything.

Things I do in my spare time, I like to exercise, (handstand, calisthenics) listen to music, play guitar, immerse myself in nature, stargaze, juggle, hiking, swimming, partying birdwatching, drawing, practise Spanish and make furniture.

How can I possibly describe how amazing this place is to volunteer. I spent 6 months at this incredible hostel and loved every minute. Betty and Julian are really lovely people and I felt so at home living with them. They were really enthusiastic to make sure I enjoyed the work and my stay with them.

This volunteering was the first one were I contributed money towards my stay.. but the… read more exchange was totally worth it. Betty's cooking was fantastic and there was aways plenty of food. Also the accommodation was fantastic too. The farm is so lovely and is a little oasis amongst the incredibly dry but magnificent coastal landscape.

What I enjoyed most about this experience was the tranquility and harmony. Everything is incredibly calm and peaceful I enjoyed my time gardening with the sound and sight of the ocean in the distance. Then after work and food I would take the dogs walking for hours, along the beach and up to the cliffs exploring the incredible landscape and to watch the sun set. Which was always a wonderful experience..

Whilst I was there I was the only volunteer. They do have availability to host more volunteers. I believe it's just luck if you are there with others. Don't expect to be a social place where you will meet other backpackers. You may, you may not.

If you are searching for volunteering in Peru, I can recommend if you desire to practice your Spanish ( as this is the only language spoken) and live a very slow pace life by the ocean with a incredibly lovely Peruvian couple and five fantastic dogs..

Mi tiempo en fue buenísimo. Yo veví en paraíso para 2 semanas. Yo disfruté cada minuto. Betty Y Julian son personas incredible. Cuando yo estuve viviendo con ellos, yo sentí el lugar de ellos estuvo mi lugar también..

Ellos les gusta voluntarios mucho Y tienen interés en hacer que su tiempo con ellos sea muy agradable.

Este estuvo mi primera lugar que yo tuve que pagar para volunteering. Pero el intercambio estuvo muy vale la pena. Yo comí muy bien porque la comida de Betty esta tan rica.. y donde yo quedé estuvo increíble, vistas del mar.. El Finca está una Oasis en una paisaje muy seca pero muy linda..

Lo que mas disfruté estuvo la tranquilidad. Yo estuve trabajando en l jardines con la ruido Y vistas de la mar muy cera..

Después trabaja yo fui con los perros caminando arriba entre los montañitas con vistas increíble con la mar. Y yo disfruté mi tiempo muchísimo con los perros. Entonces gracias Nena, Coco, negra , Oso y Beto.

Si esta en Peru y buscando para una lugar para voluntar, yo puedo recomendar si quieres practicar su español, si disfruta tranquilidad, y buen compañía con una pareja peruviana Y cinco perros muy bonitas.

I volunteered for the dogs in Carhuaz for 2 weeks..and overall really enjoyed the experience. Mi experiencia aquí fue muy buena. Lo pasé de maravilla gracias a Vero y Tierry. Fantástica comunicación desde el principio. Todo estaba bien organizado.
