Hi I‘m Helena! I'm a 31-year-old film and TV producer from Los Angeles. Last year, I made the decision to take a break from my job to travel, live more in the present, and experience all the world has to offer.

I moved to Australia in August 2023 on a work holiday visa. I traveled the east coast from Melbourne to Cairns and visited Uluru before settling in Sydney, where I worked for the last 5 months. I just landed in Perth on May 1st and am excited to explore the west coast next!

My favorite travel memories have come from exploring new places with relative strangers and seeing those strangers turn into lifelong friends. I genuinely believe that a place is only as good as the people in it and my hope is that by using Workaway I'll continue to be introduced to more amazing people and unique experiences.

I'm independent, easy going, and very social! I love history and culture, getting lost in nature and big cities alike, going to concerts, seeing plays, reading, watching movies, staying active (boxing, hiking, pilates, etc. It's so hard to stay accountable on the road so would love a workout buddy), trying new cuisines, and unwinding with a glass of wine or spicy margarita. I'm terrible at mini-golf, am either excellent or embarrassingly bad at bowling (there is no in-between), and a beginner at surfing. I'm always down to try new things...even if I am absolutely terrible at them haha.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I'm very open to different kinds of work and have experience with business administration, outdoor and indoor maintenance, and childcare! So far via Workaway I've helped restore a dilapidated inn in France via construction and gardening work, assisted a vineyard owner in Tuscany with household chores and cooking classes, managed an office in Sydney, and taught English in Barcelona.

Additionally, I love kids and animals and have 15+ years of childcare experience and have owned countless pets, so would be very happy to babysit and/or care for animals.

I'm a hard worker and quick learner, so even if I haven't done something before, I'm eager to give it a crack and gain new skills. After working in an office for most of my 20s, it's refreshing to be able to work in nature and other new environments, so I mean it when I say no task is too big or small :)
