My name is Hedi, I am 31 years old and I'm living in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. My focus currently is taking care of myself, moving my body and eating food that nourishes me, learning about Aryuveda and how I can support myself throughout the seasonal changes. I am very interested in womb work, my cycle and my female physiology and have been part of women circles for three years now. Also, I am in the process of writing my first book. I am very in tune with my emotions and have found lots of ways to hold myself throughout the waves of whatever comes up:). My goal for this year is to publish my book, offer women circles (online and in-person) and become financially stable.
I would describe myself as very empathetic and creative. I love to listen to others and learn about the deeper aspects about life.

How to fit an almost two-month long experience into a small feedback bubble?

Of course every experience you have has to do not only with the place and people, but mainly with you and the background and experiences you are bringing along with you.

Costa Rica's nature is breath-taking. Everything seems bigger and more colorful. The animals you meet in and around the house make you laugh like the turtle that we found in the morning laying on its back because it had fallen down the step, amazed like the lizards and birds and at times shocked like the huge toad you meet on your nightly bathroom runs.

Seasons change and when I was there it barely rained, got very hot during the day and comfortable in the night.

Me and some of the other volunteers had the expecation that we would come to an already-established community. From what I understand Patrick's view is that he invites volunteers to - together with him - create a community in which everyone takes part in teaching and learning.
I liked it because that gave me a lot of freedom. Of course sometimes I felt like there was a lot put into our hands, but community life goes hand-in-hand with responsibility I believe.

In the time I was there we had a lot of change: Different volunteers, a lot of bike-riders that were passing through and stayed for a night, a vacation where we got to stay in one of Patrick's friends' house in exchange of painting another one, guests that wanted to check out what we were doing there and friends visiting.

The diet had a huge impact on me. Raw-vegan food made me feel so much better in my own body, appreciate food more and the rituaI of "uncooking" with others. You can get so creative with basic food.

I learned incredibly much about myself, my fears and about another way of life. Patrick has a lot to teach and share. He is someone I love dearly. From him I learned to welcome every idea and think big. His way of showing appreciation is by giving. If someone has a problem he leaves everything he is doing and solves it or at least finds different solution approaches. Please don't expect him to know or be perfect at everything. Who of us is perfect after all?

I grew a lot in these past two months, met people who carried me through different stages and took knowledge home that now helps me create my life intentionally.
