Hello everyone,
We’re Thomas and Gracia!

Ready to flip our daily life as we know it, for this great and longer adventure. Finding new and exciting ways to discover an amazing location. Workaway seems like the ideal way to achieve this.

As a dynamic duo we bring different skills and interests. We are curious, have a good work ethic, are problem solving, flexible, and most important are in for some good energy. Especially excited and looking forward to the things that will come. We believe that the best way to experience a new place and culture is by blending in with -, and learning from the locals. By actively contributing to your place, project or daily life. We are looking forward to having a more pure and local experience. While also sharing our different cultures, skills, thoughts and interests.

Thomas:
My youth was mostly spend on the Caribbean island of Aruba. This means I feel comfortable with the ocean, hospitality/tourism and many different cultures. Since I can remember I’ve always had a passion for being hands on and practical work. I have experience in hospitality, working construction and using (power)tools. I am self thought in doing most jobs around the house. It makes me happy to see improvements at the end of a hard day or days of work and finishing a well thought out project. After two wrong study choices not really knowing what I wanted to do, I chose to follow my true interests and go for a more practical and creative study. Architecture and the build environment. Third time is the charm. I’m almost done with my bachelor Architecture on University level in the Netherlands. This means I have knowledge of construction, materials, sustainability and design. I am able to sketch idea’s and transform them into drawings/blueprints and even renders on the computer. I crave and get the most fulfillment in combining theory and knowledge with practical and hands on work. Therefor I plan on following a more craftsmanship trade after my bachelor (ship and interior building) . I see myself as practical creative and an allround handyman.

Gracia: I grew up and live in the Netherlands. For a long time i have been interested in Latin America and have lived half a year in Brazil in the past. My biggest passion is photography. I am a self thought photographer, altho photography is kind of a family trade. In addition to this I have followed some photography courses. After finishing my bachelors in Communications I have specialized in social media and content creation, this is my current job. Photography is also involved.

In my free time / interests / sports:

- running / hiking / walking
- biking
- bouldering
- crafts (painting, candle making)
- cooking

Food is love, we both like cooking and together we can bring a wide variety of cuisines (especially combined with yours ;))

Can’t wait to put our skills to good use, share experiences, cultures and create connections with hosts, locals and fellow travelers. Our goal is to have a meaningful and great time where in the future we can all look back at with a lot of positivity and who knows a lasting friendship or connections.

- PADI Rescue Diver
- General interests: working outdoors and getting my hands dirty, design, (free)diving, cooking

Gracia:
- Bachelor of Communications
- Photography: will bring my own camera. Love to capture people, experiences and atmospheric images
- Social media and content creation: this has been my full time job the past 5 years. Would love to continue to develop and share my knowledge in this field
- Experience in customer care
- Drivers license: yes
- General interests: surfing, cooking, creative work, gardening, nature
