Gavin is travelling fall 2023 while Annelie takes a term position teaching music.
As we just joined workway, this profile currently reflects only Gavin as a solo workawayer.

I love to be outside and keep active. I have a passion for the ocean and love surfing! I enjoy meeting and connecting with all sorts of people and am active hosting/meeting couchsurfers (search cs member: Gavin Jag for my excellent references)
I have travelled every winter for the past 24 years as Canadian winters are harsh and being outside all day is not really possible.
I find joy in exploring new places, trying new foods, foraging for mushrooms, and berries and growing our own food and making fruit wines. I love travel and finding new places to surf and hike, discovering new foods and meeting new people and connecting through shared experiences and exchanging ideas and stories. Despite my age of 46 years young, I tend to form connections with people of all ages and backgrounds. Age is only a date of Birth and should not limit one...we are limitless!

Skills:
Im a good problem-solver and Handyman with experience in: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, siding, roofing, painting, masonry, flooring, mechanical, landscaping.
I own my own home and cabin and fully maintain and renovate myself.
I believe in sustainable living and reuse everything and finding new use for building materials is a specialty of mine. I drive a vehicle that runs on used cooking oil and have done extensive renovations using only used building materials.
Despite having a university degree I chose a path of exploration, physical activity and learning skills such as building, car/motorcycle repair, plumbing, electrical and landscaping.
Ive spent decades reforesting Canada as a tree planter, having planted over 2 million trees by hand! Ive raised my own cow and cared for chickens, pigs and goats on my relatives farms. I have many other skills and im not afraid of getting dirty and learning new skills to get the job done.

This fall Gavin will be travelling solo while Annelie works a term as elementary music teacher.
I absolutely love surfing, it is like a battery charger for my soul!
I usually travel with a few games: a homemade travel version of carcassonne, monopoly deal and a set of dice or others.
I practice yoga and working on meditation
