Hello!
My name is Catherine and I live in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia. I was born in New Zealand but have lived in Australia most of my life. When I was in my mid twenties I began travelling and loved it so much. Now that I am much more advanced in years I feel it is time to travel again and re-visit some of the places I love so much, including Greece, especially the islands, Italy and Spain.
I think I love travel now because of the travel I did in the past. I particularly love Southern Europe and that is why I am aiming to spend as much time as I can. I would love to see more but that might have to be for another time as I only have a 90 day visa. When my time runs out in Europe I am going to Morocco - a country I have never been to before but have wanted to visit forever.
The things I love most about being overseas connect to my five senses. Seeing the beautiful architecture, countryside, people, places and food. I love to hear the sounds of other languages, animals, the sea, conversations with people, taste the food of other cultures, taste the salty air, country air. feeling the sea water on my skin (I want to be brave and go in even when it's cold), feel the air on my face, feel the cool and warm weather and everything in between. All of these experiences are what make me feel alive and bring joy to my heart.
I want to experience life in other countries by living there, even for a short time, hoping I may learn a little of the language, but to see what life is like for others and to discover what we have in common and what we do differently.
I am very excited about all of this and meeting new people and making new friends.
I am hoping to be in Greece in late February for around a month or so, then on to Italy for a month and then on to Spain. I can be a little bit flexible but with a 90 day visa I am trying not to do so many things that I don't know where I am anymore, lol.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Where to start... First I will list the study I have completed starting with oldest to newest - Certificate in Horticulture, Bachelor in Counselling, Diploma in Interior Design. Yes, lots of study!
I have worked mostly in retail and hospitality, but Interior Design is what I love most. I have done a little bit of it along with some merchandising and styling. I love to make spaces look pretty, especially if someone is renting out an Air BNB space. I have a good eye for design.
I have some gardening skills. I'm great at pruning roses, pulling weeds, can use a lawn mower if given basic instruction on getting it started. Can do most basic jobs outside.
I'm good with a paintbrush. I have painted many, many rooms over the years, along with pieces of furniture. I love finding a piece of furniture and giving it new life with paint.
I love photography. I have an okay camera and am looking forward to taking lots of pictures with it and learning more of how to use the features of the camera.
There are so many things I have done so it is hard to list them all.
I have also volunteered with many things over the years so have tried my hand at many things. Please ask about any specific skills as it is hard to think of everything.

I forgot to say I have done a lot of house sitting and pet sitting - mostly cats and dogs, but I'm about to look after some chickens.
Going for walks is a favourite thing to do, especially in the country, by the sea or in interesting places to see interesting sights and sites and bring my camera along too.
Some of my favourite things to see are old, rustic buildings and anything with character and personality. I love shopping for unique and interesting items that have a story.
I am interested in getting to know people, although I am somewhat introverted so need a certain amount of time to myself.
Going out for a coffee is something I enjoy doing too.
It's really the simple things in life that make me so happy.
