After recently renewing our membership and reading our old 2018 description I decided to keep it below as looking back now it's a nice reflection point to where we are now!
Hi! We are Elle (28) and Alessandro (Pez, 30) from Australia. In 2018 we undertook a year of Workaways, mostly in Italy gaining a lot of experience with food and culture there. After a series of unexpected events, once back in Australia in 2019 Pez and I opened an Italian restaurant in my hometown, a beautiful small coastal town called Forster. It was an unexpected chapter in our life but 5 years on we are loving it! But in need of a much overdue break.
We are travelling for the next 4 months, doing a combination of holidaying, catching up with old friends, and Workaway! We had the most amazing experiences doing Workaway 6 years ago, we really enjoy travelling this was as we enjoy meeting new people, physically working, and getting an authentic experience of the place we are visiting as opposed to just being a tourist.
My 2018 description is still very much relevant. We love the outdoors, getting our hands dirty and being physically active. We are food and cooking enthusiasts, especially Italian food but would love to learn other cultures cuisines and traditions. We are basically keen on anything and everything! We are very easy going and and take all opportunities in life.

*****2018 Description*****We have both recently finished studying at the University of Wollongong, Australia, myself studying international studies and Alessandro studying mechatronic engineering. We have both experienced full-time work after University but wanted to experience another culture, engage in different environments and meet new people. We both studied Italian at university, and hope to improve our speaking and delve into the Italian culture. I (Elle), majored in Global Sustainable Development and throughout my years at University my interest in sustainability has intensified and myself and Alessandro are very passionate about the environment and we do our best to contribute to conserve and protect it.
We both love keeping active and busy and work hard towards achieving the things we want in life. Here in Australia we love doing as much as we can outside, including surfing, hikes, and exploring new places. We are very passionate about food and equally enjoy eating it as much as we do cooking it! and would love to share some Australian dishes with you. We are very easy going, always eager to try new things and enjoy stepping outside of our comfort zones.
Given our interest in the environment, food and culture, we are very eager to work on projects or initiatives related to any of these things, with our primary goal being to learn Italian. We are very happy to exchange language practice if you are wanting to improve your English! Physical labor is not a problem for us as we are happy to get our hands dirty. Italy will not be our only venture abroad so we will be eager to work in any country that we visit. Overall, we want new experiences, new challenges, new environments and to meet new, amazing people, so we are not confined by anything. We want to try anything and everything and I hope that you would like to take us on board and be a part of our journey, and us a part of yours :)

Where to even begin! Two weeks and we felt completely at home with these guys. Elizabeth and Alessandro were great volunteers. Very respectful, reliable, and hardworking. I was very pleased with them and it was a pleasure to have them as my guests for a few weeks.
