You're never too old to make other choices.
Hello, we are Martin and Bea, two people over 50, but we feel 35;) who want to live their most beautiful lives.
We continue as the Dutch50plusnomads. We want to be inspirators for other 50+nomads.
With slow traveling and partly by using our skills we want to get to know other cultures all over the world.

When we discovered in October 2019 that our lives have an expiration date, we started thinking about 'later'. Are we living our best life? Will we continue to work until we can retire and then meet on a trip? Are we still fit and vital then? Are we really getting that old? But what if later is too late? Soon new questions arose: How does it come financially? Will we resign? Sabbatical? What are we going to do with our beautiful new house? And our four children, are we going to miss each other? Emigrate? What if the trips don't make us so happy (read: regret)? Questioning what we took the time for and what we thought about before we could decide what we want to do with the rest of our lives.

Step by step we have been able to cross out all our questions and have made the decision for us to both resign and to travel and work eight months a year from October 2020. The remaining four months we will live in Sneek, close to our children, family and friends and take the time to prepare ourselves for our next trip.

Je bent nooit te oud om andere keuzes te gaan maken.

Hallo! Wij zijn Martin en Bea, twee 50plussers, wij voelen ons 35 ;) die hun mooiste leven willen leven.
Leef jij je mooiste leven al?
Met slow traveling èn deels met het inzetten van onze skills willen wij graag andere culturen over de hele wereld leren kennen. Wij willen onze ervaring met je delen door middel van blogs en vlogs.

Toen wij in 2019 tot de ontdekking kwamen dat ons leven een houdbaarheidsdatum heeft, zijn wij gaan nadenken over ‘later’. Leven wij ons mooiste leven?
Blijven we werken tot we met pensioen mogen gaan en dan op reis? Zijn we dan nog steeds fit en vitaal? Worden we wel zo oud? Maar wat als later te laat is?
Al snel kwamen er nieuwe vragen bij ons op: Hoe komt het financieel? Nemen we ontslag? Sabbatical? Wat doen we met ons prachtige nieuwe huis? En onze vier kinderen, gaan we elkaar missen? Emigreren? Wat als we van het reizen toch niet zo gelukkig worden (lees: spijt)?
Vragen waar we de tijd voor hebben genomen en waar we goed over hebben nagedacht voordat wij konden besluiten wat wij met de rest van ons leven willen gaan doen.

Stapje voor stapje hebben we al onze vragen weg kunnen strepen en hebben van daaruit het besluit genomen om beide ontslag te nemen en vanaf oktober 2020 acht maanden per jaar te gaan reizen en werken. De overige vier maanden wonen we in Sneek, dicht bij onze kinderen, familie en vrienden en nemen dan mede de tijd om ons voor te bereiden op onze volgende reis.
