My family & friends know me as “one that does not sit still”

Hi, my name is Deana.

I raised 3 children now 35,32 & 30. I have 7 grandkids that I adore!
I was raised in West Seattle. From late spring to early fall, we would go camping every weekend up in the mountain away from the city. I grew up jumping from rock to rock along the creeks and rivers looking for the best fishing spot. Sitting by the campfire at night, laughing while roasting marshmallows. Some of my best memories!
At age 13 my family moved to Spokane, Wa .where we started a farm. The question isn’t what animals we had but rather what animals didn’t we have? Lots of responsibility. We also had a half acre garden that never lacked needing attention. Harvest time was a lot of work with no fancy machinery, just our hands, but very satisfying when mom would make dinner and we could eat the fruits of our labor.
Attending to the many animals, garden and keeping up on plenty of yard work left for never a dull moment. However, we had plenty of free time to interact with our animals and ride our horses.
We learned at a young age what hard work really is, working together to get things done and how to live off the land, So thankful to our parents for that gift!
I then went out on my own into the hospitality industry learning all about serving others. I owned a few restaurants during my past marriage and enjoyed the many connections and long time friendships made.
I am most passionate about helping others. Whether the task is big or small I enjoy seeing the task completed and in a timely matter gives me great satisfaction.
I love the country life!
There’s nothing like the smell of country air, hearing the cows and horses in the fields, and of course that time gathering on the porch in the evening to relax after a long hard day to laugh & catch up on the day and talk about duties for the next day.
I do enjoy visiting the city, I enjoy meeting new people and seeing new & interesting things
I LOVE little towns and getting to know people and hear their stories.
I enjoy cooking a good meal and baking goodies for everyone to enjoy😋
I also enjoy sewing and crochet.. I look forward to traveling to Europe and maybe learning a new language after helping hosts in the states.
I moved to California last year to live with my parents and help my dad take care of my mom. She had a stroke 2 1/2 years ago. Six months ago, my father unexpectedly passed, and my mother just recently passed.
I don’t have one moment of regret for the time I have spent with my parents even as difficult as it was at times.
I am looking forward to travel throughout the U.S. & Europe which I haven’t got to see much yet, and to experience life to its fullest, meeting people in new places, working hard and learning a little something along the way.
I don’t look or act my age. I think that’s a good thing. I believe in staying active and taking care of myself and keeping fit.
I haven’t been in a work away yet but I’m excited for all the possibilities of helping others.
I would be honored to be invited to your home to help along with any work to keep myself busy.

I have learned some Hebrew and started Italian and look forward to being in Italy & hopefully Israel and learning more of the beautiful language. Along the way, I would love to share my native English language, teaching or refining someone’s English.

Caring for animals, can drive a tractor, garden care, saddle a horse and ride of course. Prune trees, love organizing, cooking/ baking, enjoy playing with kids,
Enjoy taking pictures, minor maintenance. Enjoy entertaining ( I was front of the house manager at my restaurants) If I don’t know how to do something I love to learn new how!
