About 2 years ago we met during a dancing course and quickly discovered our shared love for travelling and Asia. So the plan of going on a purpose-finding, adventurous, once-in-a-lifetime journey to this beautiful continent was born and now here we are, living our dream...

David:
I always liked doing sport and I still love to do it. I studied IT and since I finished my studies I have been working in IT (at the very beginning work related to web sites, then SAP related mostly a mixture of doing different types of configurations and some programming).
I was born and lived in Slovakia till I was 25. Then I moved to Germany and lived there for a couple of years. Now I live in Austria, Vienna.
I already did some traveling in Asia in the past, such as spending 4 months in Thailand (also attended a Chi Kung course daily for 2 months), 1 month in Myanmar, and a few weeks in Malaysia, I loved it and had the dream to do it again someday, and now the perfect opportunity is here and I am doing it together with my girlfriend Maia. I wish to visit more countries this time, and dive even deeper into more activities, learning new skills, exploring the cultures, making new friends and simply have a rich experience of life.
My friends would describe me as: thoughtful, attentive, kind, peaceful, uncomplicated.
Among my main interests are: exploring consciousness and the underlying structures of reality from a spiritual point of view, holistic and complimentary healing modalities, living a healthy lifestyle.

Maia:
I spent the last 3 years studying molecular biology and now that I have finished my Bachelor, the time has come to re-evaluate, where I want to go with my life. I deeply care about the environment and love living in sync with nature on a physical and spiritual level. I have a keen interest in permaculture and would love to get some hands-on experience on what it can look like in real life. Currently I am also interested in the shamanic way of life and would also absolutely adore a chance to get to know local traditions and practices as there are sadly very few traditions left in central Europe. This interest expands to Buddhist and Taoist traditions and believe systems. As a Shaolin Kung Fu practitioner and teacher, I am somewhat familiar with Chan Buddhism and the basics, however, I would love to expand my knowledge and get to know what is practiced and lived in the birthplace of these believes.

Apart from this, I love (ecstatic) dancing and singing. I play the guitar and am more than happy to do singing circles for anyone interested. Sadly, I will not be able to bring my own guitar along though, so let me know if you have one I can borrow :)

Another goal of mine is learning to surf and do as many water sports as I can (Austria doesn't have access to an ocean... I love water... and beaches...). If I get the chance, I would also love to freshen up my horse-riding skills and take up archery. Plus, I am happy to help in the kitchen, I enjoy cooking and want to learn traditional dishes from every country we visit :)

However, I am open to pretty much everything, I am curious about this world and want to try and experience as much of it, as I possibly can. So I am looking forward to learning from you, your experience and culture and if you are interested, tell you about mine.

Quais são suas habilidades?

David:
As a person who studied IT and works in IT, I can help with many kinds of computer related work: use content management systems for web sites, work with word and excel documents, help/find solutions for some computer problems, help with some programming changes/adjustments.

I learned and I am learning new energy healing modalities and I am happy to provide such services.

Maia:
I am a passionate martial artist and have been teaching Shaolin Kung Fu, Rou Quan and Qi Gong to adults and children for over 2 years now. I love teaching and am always happy to give some classes.

As a permaculture enthusiast, I am happy to help with any agricultural activities and gardening, as well as plan projects in this area and take a deep dive into the biology behind it.

I have been trained as paramedic and work with the Red Cross in Austria (as a volunteer), so should any situations arise or if you want to freshen up your first aid skills, I am happy to help.

As a hobby cook and baker, I'd love to help out in the kitchen and share some dishes from here as well as learn some new ones from you!

We live 100% vegetarian and whenever we can vegan at home, however, we will try local specialties containing meat.

We love playing and learning new (card) games, and will also be bringing classic cards from Austria with us.

If you have some knowledge about herbs and traditional/alternative medicine (TCM etc.), Maia would be glad to hear about your experiences and learn from you.
