2024 update: Now we are three! In September 2023 little Amalafrida (amala) was born. Our plan for the summer of 2024 is to travel with our campervan to different projects around Germany in the hopes of figuring out which area we would like to live in. We are currently living in Leipzig, and while we love it here, we would like to move to a place where the earth is a little less flat and nature/hiking trails are a bit more accessible. We're looking forward to meeting lovely people and spending a good time together =]
Amala is currently (april) 6 months old, and she's generally a pretty chill baby. So far she loves other people (no stranger danger phase yet) and doesn't cry at night. This would be our first workaway experience with a baby, so I'm not sure how the workflow would go, but we would try our best to balance babycare and workaway help. We have our own campervan, and if we couldn't manage the hours of help that you are looking for we can also provide our own food. We are really just curious about different projects and communities, and we are easygoing about setting expectations.
Old description:
After finishing our university studies (Dama studied medicine (She's a doctor!!) and Fred studied International Studies/ Peace and Conflict research) we grabbed our backpacks and spent two years hitchhiking from Norway to Thailand. We workawayed (is that a word now?) in many places along the way, learned a ton of new skills and met many beautiful people doing it =] We kept hitchhiking around Europe and the US for a bit before buying an old rotten campervan in England. We spent a year completely taking it apart and building everything from scratch, while also traveling in it. Now we're mostly done with it and tired of moving around so much. We've been on the road for five years, so we feel like temporarily settling down, and chose Leipzig as our location. Dama would like to learn German and tattooing, and Fred works for a sustainability project online, so all he needs is enough time and internet access to be able to do it. We have our own accommodation in the form of our campervan, so all we really need is a parking spot, some water and electricity and a toilet somewhere not too far =]Interesses

Thanks so much for everything Hadi!
Fred, everyone is appreciating the great signboard you made for the farm and Dama, the maps of the farm you made are extremely useful. We wish you all best for your future volunteer experiences and highly recommend you both as volunteers.
Thanks, Dada

Dama and Fred were constantly working away on projects that i have had in mind for so long and never managed to get done. I kind of just casually showed them around and pointed at possible tasks and pretty much all of them they remembered and fulfilled when i was not even thinking… read more
We met a lot of nice people on Lantau and learned a lot about permaculture (she gave us an introductory workshop).
We stayed at her place for two weeks and she gave us some great tips on how to explore the island afterward.

The time we spent at Ali's place was great. His project is very ambitious but it was easy to see the progress during our stay. I hope the Wells are doing what you hoped for! Ali is always working day and night but doesn't force anyone to do the same. He is leading by example which makes it easy to follow him but also enables you… read more

Luckily they came by, became Arcadian Legends for life and we had a wonderful time together.
The work they provided was more than expected plus the great vibes and morality upgrades!
thanks to the wonderful bunch of people for making this an intense and enriching time for us. Thank you Alex for being a beautiful bubble and hosting us in your Megacity.
