As a hugely compassionate person, I am one of life's natural "helpers". I have volunteered with the homeless for over a decade. I have been chair of an addiction charity. I have done petsitting for years and am passionate about animals. I help run a peer support group when I'm at home. I am friendly and love travelling, meeting new people, learning languages, learning about different cultures, and making friends (both animal and human) all over the world. I am motivated by doing meaningful things that make a real difference. I'm self-sufficient, hardworking, and a positive, happy soul.

I learn languages fairly easily and would love to improve while volunteering. I have excellent native English and I am happy to teach. I have good proficiency in French and German (I have qualifications in both) and am willing to either learn more or teach what I know. When I lived in Berlin, I did a little English tutoring.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I am a can-do person. I have volunteered for over 20 years, from frontline work with the homeless to petsitting to running a peer support group. I have been the chairwoman of a charity. For paid work, the main fields I have worked in are charities, social care, psychotherapy, writing, and customer service. I am an excellent communicator and very organised. I will happily pitch in with anything. I learn quickly and am conscientious. I am good at both leading and contributing to a team. I am a great trouble-shooter and very practical. My "super-skills" are the so-called "soft" ones, which I have found are actually the most important; I don't judge. I am caring, supportive, and understanding. I have emotional intelligence and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I have a clean UK police check.

I love animals, walking, reading, travelling, philosophy, psychology, creative writing, yoga, and coffee. I prefer alternative music, art, and literature to mainstream entertainment, although I enjoy most documentaries. I am very considerate, friendly, have a good sense of humour, and am down-to-earth. I am genuinely interested in people and tend to make lasting connections wherever I go.

  I have blood sugar issues, so I can't eat sugar or heavy carbs. I need protein. I do not expect a host to provide for this. I carry suitable snacks wherever I go, and can buy and cook for myself (and you, if you like) so as not to cause you inconvenience.
