Dear world,

I love you. And now, after 3 months of workawaing in Greece and Italy the journey continues. I m into italian kitchen now. I m already cooking a lot- unfortunetally not yet italian but it will come soon:). I m looking for sportive and cultural exchange.
I want to learn about Sicilian pasticceria - pleasasseeeeeee!!! :D or let's go climbing! Or even better - both!

I quit my job in 07/23 and went travelling through Europe. So far i ve been in Greece and Italy. Since 11/23 I am in Sicily, knowing some of my family roots, the amazingly beautiful culture of Sicily and hopefully also some of the pasticceria art. Before heading back to Germany on yet an unknown date, I want to experience Turkey and Georgia..

If you can help me with finding an opportunity to learn about Sicilian pasticceria, you ll help me to fulfill a strong desire and I ll be thankful for the rest of my life:)

Sarah è una tedesca latina dal cuore d'oro. Ci siamo conosciuti quando accompagnavo lei ed Alberto in montagna, per un evento relativamente vicino a casa mia.

What great honour to welcome Sarah in my house! Everytime gentle and willing to help! She has a great eye for organize works! Delized us with great ayurvedic meals and even cannoli sicilani! With the other volunteer we formed a nice group, sharing knowledge and fun! Me, my neighbours and friends look foward to have soon Sarah back with us!

Damaso has probably more books than house- if this is possible and together with the other volunteer we had fun taking and reading them, and so we had more things to talk about while we were sitting in front of his chimney- the most cozy place I have every experienced in my workawayers life. The beauty is that it was us who have to collect the wood and small sticks to start the fire and just take care of what is needed in order to have it warm in the evening.
So as well with the food. Collecting green veggies fresh from the field while getting some lessons about wild plants was almost on a daily basis - Working, learning and exchanging was our daily bread. Since Damaso is a big little story teller laughing was also part of the daily basis - he likes to make jokes ;)
Besides the fact that I experienced Damaso as a very generous host who wants his volunteers to have fun and realize some local opportunities, he is very interested and willing to exchange knowledge, time and even friends and neightbors:D. Conversations, reading, laughing were our evening program. But even if all of us were tired, than we were just sitting there in front of the chimney and watching the fire burn- a meditation with open eyes for me.

The work I had to do was divers. I helped him to paint the bathroom, I harvested plants, helped with other staff int he fields, cooked a lot and kept the house clean. Damaso wanted to give me tasks that I feel comfortable with - in the sense of feeling capable of completing the task with a good outcome. I experienced him as very attentive and willing to adapt to my needs.
His generosity and awareness wanted me to give my best at all time.

Without a car there is the possibility to walk around the area and see the most beautiful parts of Italy. With a car you have more possibilities, but since Damaso is a very sociable person, we had many occasions in which we went to towns close by.

I left Damasos place with so many nice encounters and a warm feeling. Since he allowed me to take a book with me- my return is for sure:) Thank you so much Dama! I am very happy to have you had as my host ! big hug o/

I am already here for two months and still I can get enough of Albertos presence and his qualaties as a therapist, as a person, and now also as a friend. There is no way to put this extraordinary experience into words. Alberto is a person that is looking for its equal. His willingness, his passion and over all- his ability- to bring people in… read more contact with themselfs and with the universe is nothing more but beautiful and unique. Within this process, he shows more patient and respect than I have ever seen from a human being before. But what really gives life to these qualities is the heart that he puts into his actions. All he wants is that everyone is good- he opens his door and his heart to enable people to reach this goal. He does not only do that with me but with so many people. And he does not do that as a a duty but rather because it makes him happy.
Besides all that, his knowledge about Ayurveda, Healing Methods and Life in general is immense. And rather than braging with this, he uses this quality to enable you to become a better version of yourself, without judgement, only respect and appreciation.
The work in this place requieres defenetly initiative. You have to be capable to ask for what there is need to be done. There are planty of things that have to be done- eather in the garden, where I already planted a lot, in the garage, where we re buliding up order and structure, the home itself, where there is everything to be done that a home requires. But also preparing ayurvedic food, drying herbs, making tee, ayurvedic cooking, everything in one place. And the very beatiful thing is, that he doesnt just abandon you with your work. All my experience here is sharing a life together.
This is the place where I wanted to give my very best even in the tasks that I didnt like. And this is because Alberto gives me so much, that it is my wish and my need, to do just my very best, to give something back.
Everyone who is interested in the things he is describing in his profile, will get 100%, but I ask everyone to also give 100%.

Regarding the place. this is an industrial area, just like Alberto describes. With the bike and the car you will get to the most beautiful places. But even the garden in the backyard is wonderful. So no beach next door, but maybe Alberto will take you there to spend some hours at the see together.
