Hi my name is Annemiek but you can call me Miek (Meek)

I am really excited about getting out of my comfort zone and having new experiences in new places. My thoughtful, adventurous, and friendly nature coupled with my love of nature and animals, teaching creative workshops I feel would allow me to jump head first into new experiences and get stuck in wherever possible.

A number of experiences this year have shown me that my happiness lies in helping and being surrounded by others as well as animals.

I also love being creative in my spare time, drawing, photography, dance, yoga, jewellery making and hiking.

The thought of travelling with a purpose and meaning in helping others and animals really excites me and I’d love to explore that experience in new challenging but fun environments and learn a lot about myself along the way.

Currently doing an online Animal Behaviour and welfare course at the University of Edinburgh. As well as Dog emotion and cognition at Duke University.

Multitasking as a manager at a shop, learning to communicate with colleagues, customers and creating a friendly work environment

Patience and understanding, working along neurodivergent colleges so we can all work to our strengths and feel supported at work.

IT skills in adobe suite, and Microsoft. Use of cameras, photography skills

Degree in Textiles Design with Business studies, creative, written communication, hand sewing, sewing machine, screen printing, fabric mending, dyeing fabrics

Attention to detail - Through my creative outlet, designing prints for products I am meticulous and strive to do the best I can.

Problem solver - learning how to act quickly within an environment, fixing tech, giving other options and solutions, found though my work as a manager in a busy shop thinking on my feet is paramount in the running of the shop

Adaptability - working as a Studio assistant for a small independent I was adaptable to do photography, social media posts, packing and shipping and packaging design, each day was entirely different and I found adapting to new surroundings easy and fun.
