YOU'LL BE ASKED TO PLAY WITH OUR 12 YEARS OLD DOUGHTER SOFIA (SPEAKING ONLY ENGLISH) IN ORDER TO SPEED HER ENGLISH MASTERING. A BIT OF FRENCH IS ALSO VERY WELCOME!

About us:
We're an Italian family living in Northern Italy, close to Milan, Garda Lake and Venice.
Cremona is a little, safe and calm town of about 65'ooo citizens. It's very nice but, I'll tell you in advance, not very active at night. We have museums, medieval palaces, shopping centers, great places to go to run or rest in the open air and so on. It's also very well connected with great cities like Milan, Verona or Venice. Cremona is famous for classical music, violin makers and because of its Torrazzo, that is the tallest brick tower in Europe (you can see it in the profile picture).
About Sofia:
We have a doughter, Sofia, who is 12 years old and speaks Italian, English and very basic French. She is attending the first grade of the middle school. She loves to spend time with workawayers and we love to host foreign girls! She likes playing with boardgames, drawing, listening to music, playing outdoor, running, swimming, making things with paper and glue and smiling a lot!
Our ideal workawayer:
- has experience in teaching to children in order to speed up Sofia's mastering of English/French (if she can speak some French is more then welcome!)
- is not internet/mobile/social/TV addicted
- is very talkative and energetic
- loves playing with children and she is responsible
- is a tidy person who helps at home as a member of the family
- is not a party girl (she doesn't go to bed too late)
What you are expected to do:
- be part of the family
- play a lot with Sofia
- tide up your bedroom and bathroom
- actively push Sofia to speak
- help her with writing and reading in English
- and correct her and me speaking
What you will be able to do:
- visit Northern Italy during the weekend
- go to our country club in summer to swim and relax
- have your me-time also at home (you'll have your bedroom and bathroom)
BE CAREFUL!
I have to tell you in advance: Sofia is very energetic and demanding! She'll be always there to ask you: "Do you want to play with me?".
She likes to play together with other people, speaking a lot and being active. We hardly watch tv and Sofia is not allowed to play videogames: we prefer her to play and speak.
I'll ask you to correct Sofia's and my English as soon as you hear a mistake, so don't be shy! We want to learn a lot from you!
Last but not least: we have a little chihuahua, Brando. He's a good dog but don't leave your things on the floor if you don't want him to steal them! He is also barking at the beginning, so not a good idea coming here if you are afraid of dogs.

You could learn a bit of Italian from Sofia and taste our good food. (But you're supposed to speak only Englsish and to ask the same to Sofia).
If you like classic music: Cremona is the world capital of violin makers and in Verona and Milan they can listen to great Operas.
If you are romantic: Venice and Verona (with the Juliet's balcony) are to visit!
It you love art: in Milan there are plenty of museums.

More than a baby-sitter, we would like to meet a girl who becomes part of our family, just like the other au-pairs who stayed with us.

Acomodação
You will have your own bedroom and bathroom. It's Sofia's room, so she'll aften ask you to enter the room to get some games.
We'd like to host a girl who can easly get used to our routine: no smoking-drinking-etc., no going to bed too late in the evening, being reliable, responsible, easy going, smiling, talkative, calm and friendly people. She has to play and speak a lot with Sofia (no tv or dvd). Speaking only English with all the family.

I think it's nice to know that 5-10 minutes far from our home (walking or by bike) there are the train station, a very big mall with restaurants, shops and a cinema, a public garden with swings and slides.
The center of the town is also reachable in 5-10 minutes by bike and there are different kinds of markets (with food, chothes or antiquities), museums, shops and language schools.
Others malls are reachable by bus (Cremona is a small town with very good facilities).
If possible I'll put you in contact with another aupair who a friend of mine is hosting at the moment.
By train we can reach a lot of towns like Milan (I work there once a week) and so on.
We are also member of a country-club with swimmingpools and tenniscourts.
During your staying in Cremona you can: climb up the highest middleaged tower in Europe and see Cremona from above, visit the beautiful Cathedral, visit the Violin Museum, visit the open market every Wednesday and Saturday morning, visit different markets on Sunday, run along the Po river, enter a Violin Maker Shop and see how they build a Violin.
In summer you can spend your time with Sofia at the country club swimming or lying in the sun.
You can reach Milan by train in one hour (a lot of people live in Cremona and work in Milan every day).
You can visit Verona in a day.
I suggest you to spend a couple of days in Venice.
As I said, the most important thing for me is that the girl we're going to host speaks a lot with Sofia and push her to speak English having fun at the same time.
