We are a young family dedicated to agriculture and education. We have an small scale ecological farm, we do not no use chemicals! =) . We hope to help you in different activities that we need here at the farm and be proactive in requesting your cooperation. We also need people with building skills to help in different things in our home and people that have design and phtography skills .It works from Monday to Friday and the evenings are free. We live near to the sea and steps of the road of the coast, to 10 km. from Curanipe, the main town in the area. The area is a mixture of country and sea cultures. There are good conditions for surfing, plus many other possible sports. Here we eat everything, we could adapt the meals to someone vegetarian. The arrival to the farm is no problem, we coordinate and we will pick you at the Curanipe bus terminal.

We all are going to learn something, in your case learn or improve spanish and for us improve english! Will for sure learn about different crops in our ecological farm. This territory is a beutiful country and sea area and you will for sure enjoy local cultures.

If you have experience is cool, but if you don´t, we only need that you have the energy to cooperate and learn :) . We are always needing help of building and carpentry also, design and photography skills are welcome too =)

Acomodação
We can receive volunteers in cabin, which is in the same place where the ecological farm is. They could also set up camp if they wish. Cabin is full equipped . We live far away from main town, is quiet you will rest here, is just a very nice place.

If you like sports, you can enjoy kayaking, trekking, surfing, and many other sports! There are many places to visit around, we also have 3 national reserves, a beautiful coast, this is paradise!

This was my first workaway and what a home to go to first! Jorge and Gabi welcomed me into their home straight away and I immediately felt comfortable with my surroundings. Their home is beautiful. From the house you overlook their strawberry field with the view of the Pacific behind that, its very special!
I had initially intended to stay a few… read more days to work with the strawberries and surf around the Curanipe area before continuing north. I ended up staying over 2 weeks cause I felt so at home and so content with the work, the people, the area, everything was just perfect! I'm travelling South to North through Chile and into Peru with my surfboard and trying to surf as much of the coastline as possible. I was initially a bit apprehensive going to this workaway cause I didn't know how much surfing I'd be able to do as I'd need a car to get to the beeches. Luckily Jorge is as mad on surfing as I am so we had loads of surfs together either on the weekends or in the evenings after work. Thanks a million for that and for showing me the local coastline (which is epic by the way). Jorge also speaks great English so if you're an English speaker like me who struggles with Spanish there's no issue there.
In terms of work it's 5 hours a day (9am-2pm), 5 days a week (Monday-Friday). The work is a mix of picking strawberries, cleaning the strawberries from weeds and cutting the tops off the strawberries. Its a good variety of jobs and being outside the whole time in the sun with the birds singing and the sound of the Pacific crashing onto the beach 1km away, it is awesome and definitely the most idyllic place I've worked before. There are 3 meals a day which are all great. I eat a lot of food and I was very content with the amounts. Gabi's a great cook and if you're lucky enough you might even get a few meals from Jorge ;). When I had time off in the afternoons and weekends there were plenty of opportunities to head into Curanipe for some churros and empinadas, or to go to the local beach or go for a surf with Jorge. It's such a peaceful place that I also spent a lot of time practicing my yoga and doing a lot of reading.
All in all, what Jorge and Gabi have built and continue to develop, is very special and I'm very grateful they let me into their house so openly. I learnt a lot and made 2 friends in the process who I hope to see when they're Europe way for a surf in the northern reaches of the UK or some secret spot in Morocco. Our experience on Jorge and Gabriela’s farm will be a highlight of our travels throughout Chile. They made us feel like part of their family, but still provided us with privacy. Their home is beautiful, and the food was fantastic. The work felt rewarding, and at the end of the day you’ll be steps away from the beach.
