Our Country House is 5 Star, 14 bedroom, family run, award winning guest accommodation in Bowness on Windermere. The work is full time, and requires a high standard of work in both restaurant and housekeeping.

The Lake District National Park is a quiet, rural area. It is a beautiful area for walking / cycling. Do have a look on the map to see the area you would be living. We are a long way from big cities! Our nearest small town is one mile away and is called Bowness on Windermere.

The work is a mixture of housekeeping (making beds, cleaning bedrooms, cleaning bathrooms,) and waiting on in the restaurant at breakfast. Laying and clearing tables, and taking orders. Serving drinks and light lunches / Sunday lunch.
You work a five day, 40 hour week. This is mainly straight shifts from 7.30 until 4.30 with 2 x half hour breaks. You will be working some split shifts some times. We are small and quiet with approximately 10 – 15 staff in total.
We are looking for applicants who are cheerful, hardworking, friendly, enthusiastic, well presented, with good manners, and a good level of English. Experience is useful but not essential as training is available. A smile is essential. Our emphasis is on friendly customer service, and our standards are high.You must be a non smoker.
The General assistant salary is the current minimum wage £9.50 per hour before tax. (March 22) Accommodation is then deducted at a rate of £30 per person per week.

Accommodation- you have a bedroom to yourself, and a bathroom shared with one other person. This is adjacent to the hotel, so there is no travel. There is a communal sitting room with TV. There is a kitchen for staff. Breakfast is provided of toast, cereal, tea, coffee, milk and this is available all through the day. Other meals you provide yourself. You have a shared kitchen with cooker and fridge to provide your own meals.
