  Would you like to stay around Byron Bay but you can not afford to? this may suit you:
  We live 10 mins drive from Byron, Mullumbimby and the beach. We have a cute fully furnished studio with private garden available for a single person who wants to stay for a few weeks or several months.
  Please note that we can really only take a single person in as of 2026.
  
  You will need to have your own transport and do your own thing around food. So you will need your own car or motorcycle to stay with us, and yes I am sorry and know that many of you don’t own a car, but we have good reasons for making this a condition of stay at this time.
  
  In exchange for the studio we expect help with housework and gardening while we are at home. We expect 10 hours of work from our helper per week.
  Housesitting and caretaking of our animals ( 2 dogs, 3 horses ) is needed here at times we go away which is usually once a month for a few days.
  
  You will need to be able to handle wifi and that I smoke inc pot ( doctor prescribed! ) on the veranda of the main house which is not far from the studio.
  Some horse handling ( rugging, haltering, leading, applying insect repellant ) is required when we go away, so please only apply if you have experience with handling horses.
  
  We may have the odd meal together but generally we are looking for independent individuals who will not rely on us too much for contact due to my chronic health issues.

  We were both born in Europe and have lived in Australia since 1987. Alok is a building designer/architect and I am a retired healer/therapist. Most people find us interesting to hang out with. Alok is a wise man with a great sense of humour aged 72 and I am 61y.o., so yes we are old but mostly young at heart. Personal contact with us ( hanging out together ) will depend on how we get on with eachother and how I feel on the day since I am dealing with a chronic illness.

  Gardening, cleaning, cooking ( vegetarian or vegan ) caring for our two dogs and three horses at times when we go away, usually once per months for 4 days/nights.

  You would stay in a generous sized studio with your own bathroom, mini kitchen with all the basics, verandas and private garden with vegie patch. The bed is a comfy double. There is airconditioning, heating and a smart tv… it is a clean, mold free and lovely little abode. The studio also comes with its own parking spot.

  This area has a lot to offer, Byron Bay is down the road, as is the beach, the markets, various walks and there is an endless list of activities on offer, especially for people with an interest in meditation, yoga, dance, alternative therapies, healthy living, creativity. There is no public transport here, so you will need your own car.

  We have fast and decent wifi access and speed here

  While there is space to park a van here, at the there is no power near by and we don’t want too much activity near that parking spot, to not disturb another occupant on our property. We would prefer if you stay in our studio and can offer safe parking for your van. 12 meters long was pushing it a bit space wise, so that would be the absolute limit.
