  Ours is a seasonal business consisting of a Cafe and RV Campground that opens in late May and runs through the second week of September. This is our 7th year running it. Goals when we purchased it included meeting more people who share our love of the wilderness and all the amazing things this state has to offer. Getting to do that each Summer
  is something we love and enjoy sharing with others. This year there may be some construction opportunities also as we look to develop several acres we own immediately adjacent to the RV Park.
  
  All positions are paid. Most start at Alaska state minimum which as of July 1, 2026 is now $14.00/ hour. Some positions may start at a higher rate based upon experience. That is negotiable and will be determined during the interview process. As such any applicant must be authorized to work in the US and be able to verify it.
  
  This year we also are looking for someone that might be interested in a management position. That could possibly lead to a multi-season position.

  The job is at a cafe and popular RV campground on the West Glenn Highway in rural part of Alaska. It is a frequent stop for international tourism because of its proximity to the Matanusca Glacier and overall beautiful location. Our visitors range from native Alaskans, people from the lower 48 states, Canada and all over the world. It is a ruggedly beautiful location with a Dall sheep preserve in the mountains across the street. Moose sightings are frequent. Lodging is provided and an hourly rate commensurate with experience will be paid.

  Prep and grill cooking, baking, pizza-making, waiting tables and washing dishes in a small cafe in Alaska on the Glenn Highway in the mountains above the Matanuska Glacier. Basic groundskeeping, cleanup, maintenance and running firewood to guests are all ongoing. We have our two dogs up for the third year in a row. Each year we have at least one staff that loves them and enjoys taking them for walks on the various trails that surround our property.

  Staff cabins with a community room. Meals provided on site during shift and some bulk groceries and sundries are provided. Additional meals from the menu can be purchased at 50% off.

  We have strong relationships with the local guide companies and frequently place staff on glacier hikes and river rafting trips. There are many hiking and wilderness-related activities available. Fishing and wild berry picking are a couple of those.

  We can host digital nomads. We have a pretty reliable internet connection now since adding a fiber connect to the facility. That being said we're in a very rural location in the mountains and occasionally still are subject to a power outage which can affect the internet.

  This is somewhat limited and based on some discussion. We've had a couple people that have stayed and worked with us who had a dog and it worked ok to good. We'll be bringing ours up this Summer also which could limit the number of additional dogs we could accommodate comfortably. Smaller cage type pets could be fine. We had kittens last Summer.
