  Hello!
  
  We are a surf-skate hostel located in the village of Arugam Bay, we first opened in August 2023 and are currently open for the Arugam Bay season 2025! We are a surf-skating hostel, we are proud to have opened Arugam Bays first ever skate park! Our high season runs from May-October!
  
  The skate park is within our hostel along with dorm rooms, a private room, basketball ring, restaurant and communal areas.
  
  We are a backpackers hostel that is becoming quite popular, especially among those who share the interest of skating. Our skate park is open for everyone, free to use for our guests and any visitors. We also organise surf trips daily, safaris and camping trips!
  
  The hostel is located outside of town of Arugam Bay. Please note: it is around a 10-15 minute walk.
  
  At our hostel, we have chosen to help the local kids with learning English, whilst they also boost their skate skills - so we are looking for a volunteer.

  Here volunteers will be living at our hostel and everyone is treated as family. We all eat dinner together most nights, surf daily together and skate together.
  
  You will be a part of our journey to create a safe space for the kids and you will also be interacting with lots of locals who live in this area and become a part of the Arugam Bay community.

  We’re Looking for Volunteer Superstars!
  
  Join our family and help create amazing experiences in our community.
  
  Social Host Volunteer
  Help create a great hostel vibe by organizing surf trips, activity nights, beer pong, karaoke, and other social events for guests.
  
  Social Media Volunteer
  Help grow our online presence by shooting, editing, and posting content, and managing our social media channels.
  
  Best case scenario: one person who enjoys both roles and can manage social media while also helping host activities and events.
  
  English Mentor (Kids 6–16)
  Help run 1-hour English practice sessions (5x per week, excluding Fridays from 4–5 pm), followed by a 1-hour skate session. Support kids in improving their conversational English through games, activities, writing, and creative learning. Ideally, you can also create simple lesson plans that build on each other for better learning flow.
  
  There are around 30 kids, split into two age groups, with classes on alternating days.
  
  Minimum stay for all volunteer positions: 4 weeks.
  
  We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people who love working with others and creating great experiences. Experience is a bonus, but passion is key!

  You will receive free accomodation daily (a dorm room) and will have access to make meals in our kitchen (provided you supply your own ingredients) . Whenever you choose to host family dinners, cooked by our chef, (2-4 times per week)- you will eat those meals for free!
  
  You will also have free laundry.
  
  We have some boards available at the hostel, if any of them suit your needs you are able to use for free.

  Arugam Bay is full of great night life, great food and great surf. There are so many surf spots around. You can learn to skate at our hostel, there are also jungle safaris and camping trips that we can organise. Arugam Bay will become quite busy during high season meaning you will make plenty of new friends and meet travellers from all over the globe!
  
  Our hostel is located around a 15 minute walk from Arugam Bay town, we are located in the village!
