I spent four wonderful months at Jeanne and Allan’s place and had an amazing time. Helping Jeanne with various tasks was always enjoyable — the work was never too much and varied enough to keep things interesting. From the very first day, she made me feel completely at home.

… read more welcome distraction. I really appreciated the many great conversations we had — Jeanne is not only funny but also incredibly knowledgeable. I learned so much about Canadian culture, especially the traditions and food of Québec.
One of the highlights was visiting her lovely father in Québec, which was such a special experience. Jeanne even made sure I got to ride a skidoo — something that had been on my Canadian bucket list! She also took me to a fantastic place to try authentic poutine (a must!), and I was able to bring home some delicious local tire d’érable (maple taffy) as a souvenir.
I'm deeply grateful for their flexibility with the length of my stay and for welcoming me into their home. It was an unforgettable experience that I’ll always cherish.

Joëlle stayed with us for 4 months. This is the longest a traveler stayed with us. I have to say that since she left, I have missed her tremendously! She is a hard worker - she kept the kitchen and the house spotless the whole time. She liked to be busy and if she finished a task while I wasn't around, she would find something to do. A real self

She was also very independent and planned her own activities on the week ends; which made it easier to have someone staying for several months.
She loved out cats and we had great conversations over tea, breakfast oatmeal of nice Montréal style bagels!
I recommend Joëlle 100% for any stay (well, may be not if you have a lot of cooking to do 😄). Joking aside, she is reliable, polite, dedicated and hard working.
You are welcome back to our house anytime Joëlle, for a stay or just a social visit!

… read more exchange was really valuable to me. We got along really well and I felt welcomed from the very beginning on. They even trusted me to catsit their lovely two furry friends for some days while they were on vacation
If you want to learn a lot about Canada I can absolutely recommend Jeanne´s and Allan´s place, the cultural exchange is amazing with Jeanne and the game nights with everyone were so much fun.

Pauline was a great volunteer and we really enjoyed her company. She did some paint tasks for us and the quality of the workmanship is exceptional. She has a lot of great ideas and can help independently.
Unfortunately, both Allan and I contracted COVID during her stay and on top of testing positive for over 10 days, we got really sick and
… read more didn't feel very energetic for quite some time. So it did put a damper on Pauline's experience. She was a real trooper though and did continue to do her assigned tasks while we were isolating.
Pauline helped me move along in some projects where I was stuck and her can do attitude was really helpful. A real blessing.
I highly recommend Pauline as a Workawayer. She is good company, she has good work ethic, is eager to do well, has a lot to share, doesn't need supervision, etc. And the conversation is always interesting.

Don't be fooled by Giulia's young age. She is an old soul and mature beyond her age. We had the most interesting conversations and a lot of fun too. She is dynamic and a hard worker. If there were no instructions, she would just find something to do and keep busy.

The cultural exchange was great as we all learned from each other and shared about our respective cultures, traditions and local history.
