The only way I can explain the Lane Family is by calling them my "home away from home".
Within a small time span of 3 months, I had created a tight bond with the family that I know will carry through for the rest of my life. I don't think of my experience with them as a workaway exchange but more of an adoption. They took me in when I needed help
… read more and I quickly became a part of their family routine.
Jemma and Richard will offer you plenty of opportunities to head into town with them for some shopping, tag along with their family outings or my favourite, watching the kids weekend sports games.
The kids themselves are a loud and boisterous bunch with so much love and fun to give. With them around, there's never a dull moment in the house and you definitely begin to miss them while they're in school, but that's not to say I didn't appreciate the peace and quiet every now and then ;)
I really do recommend you staying with the Lanes as they're the most welcoming and generous people you'll ever meet. They'll make sure your stay with them is as comfortable as possible and they'll always keep you on your toes! Not only will you be enjoying their company but you'll also get the chance to meet and socialise with many of their close friends who also share the same affable traits as the Lanes!
So when you eventually do end up with the Lanes, ask them to call me for you and I'll happily tell ya "I told you so!"

The family is a lovely, loud, and very welcoming bunch!
Their property has the most beautiful sunsets and tons of animals. The town of Toowoomba itself is very nice also, with a lot of nice parks and little shops to wander through. I will say having a car would have been useful just so you can explore more however Jemma took me into town

I stayed in this beautiful family for 3 weeks and I really enjoyed. This was my first workaway experience and I really enjoyed. Had a lovely week with the family! Would definetly recommend. Jemma is kind, lovely and hardworking woman and the kids are so sweet! During the week I got to see the carnival of flowers and some kangaroos in the yard. Would love to see the family again!

It was so good to meet this family ! It was my first work away and I couldn't find better family and better place ! They want you to feel like home and to be a part of the family. They're sharing, caring, funny and helpful. I was feeling very comfortable. All the family helped me a lot to improve my english.

The Lane family is so lovely! We had such a great time staying with them for 2 weeks. It was lovely staying with some locals and they even took us to a school concert.

We were a part of this lovely family for a week and we couldn't have wished for a better place! They were really kind to us and the children are just wonderful! They took us so many places and we absolutely enjoyed the whole experience, would love to see them again some time! :D
