We are accepting applications now for experienced farmers who want a cultural exchange in Hawaii. We have an organic farm located about 20 minutes from Captain Cook town and 1 mile up a four wheel drive road. Very rugged, remote and diversified land. It is planted with coffee, fruits, vegetables, Hawaiian healing plants and much more!!. There is a huge potential for the right people who have experienced living off grid before. Applicants must be capable of hard work and walking steep hills and be responsible for their own transportation. We require experience with some or all of the following: plants, off grid living, building, solar, plumbing, planting, harvesting, pruning, water conservation. Communal kitchen, drinking water and basic staples are provided and some organic fruits and vegetables from the farm. A few others things to know is that there are mosquitos and there is limited internet use. There are amazing beaches near by and its warm weather all year long. We have a very large diversity of edible and medicinal plants growing on the farm. The opportunity for learning Hawaiian ethnobotany including medicinal plant uses is one of our strengths. While out and about in Hawaii you will hear and see Hawaiian culture in the food, language and music. For those who are independent and eager to learn and grow, there is much room.

The help that is required is farm help which includes tasks such as : weeding, planting, harvesting, washing fruits and vegetables and other farm improvements. Each day is different on the farm. It depends on weather and season, but mostly all days includes getting your rubber boots and gloves on and getting outside!

Housing includes private room, shared kitchen and outdoor shower, and composting toilet.
On time off there are a few local beaches near by with crystal clear water, snorkeling and often dolphin sighting. Kayaking, surfing and stand up paddle are fun ocean sports. There is also a local farmers market on the weekends. There is a bus that runs through the town twice a day, called the Hele On. The city is about 1 hour away, but a local general store is only 3 minutes from the bottom of the 1 mile farm road.
