"This is the type of place where no one knows the time of the month, or what the gold standard is. The type of place where pedlars still come to...." My famous great great aunt once wrote.
My name is Louise and I live in a unique location - a farm which many visitors tell me is always an amazing and sometimes life changing place to visit. It could be the peaceful and tranquil setting in a rural valley in County Down, or it could be the special atmosphere created by my wonderful ancestors who lived in the house before I inherited it from my great aunt. Whatever the reason, I am asking you to be a part of my world. The house I have been restoring for 5 years and the 5 acre garden is always in need of some TLC. The help is varied and satisfying. I am a furniture maker/teacher but spend most of my time on the farm, in the garden or restoring the house and outbuildings.
Because of the variety of tasks, I am very sorry I can not take workaways that do not speak good english.
The closest town, Banbridge is 4 miles away and very easy to get to by bus from Belfast or Dublin.

I live in a wee bit of paradise 30 minutes south of Belfast and 1 1/2 hours north of Dublin. Half an hour from the Mourne Mountains. If you are a writer, artist or photographer, this place would be ideal.
I am very busy so I would love someone that shows initiative and enthusiasm!
There are several bikes here to explore the countryside with.
I am mostly vegetarian.
It is very important to me that you know how to cook and clean up after yourself.

Marco is a very genuine, 100% special guy with a great heart.
He was very trustworthy with equipment and machinery and worked really hard and sometimes it was hard! He got on very well with the other workaways and worked brilliantly as a team.
I thoroughly enjoyed having Marco stay. He made us all laugh, the pigs included! We all miss him.

Makiko arrived during our New Year celebrations. She fitted in so well always looking for a job. She did great work clearing leaves, clearing front of house garden and her cooking was absolutely delicous. She got on with everyone socially and was quite the hit with all who visited.
