Joan and his wife were very pleasant hosts. They are very communicative and kind. We helped them build a house. They also accommodated our vegetarian requirements regarding food and were always interested in whether we felt comfortable. Thank you for a very pleasant experience! 🙂

A bit late but better than never..:)
During summer 2023 I spent a week helping Joan build his cool new house.
The help involved clay - mainly coating the walls inside the house and sometimes preparing the right mixture. There was also some cleaner tasks such as marking the walls with tapes or pulling nails from wooden planks (it goes without
… read more saying that it was definitely not as fun as the clay). Joan was really forthcoming and flexible when it came to the schedule - if we arranged an afternoon activity, we would finish the tasks sooner and extend them some other day
As group of five worksawayers, we were staying in tents near the house we were building. I got the old school fabric tent with a mattress, warm and more comfortable than you can imagine.
For breakfasts there was pastry, bio yoghurts (some of them homemade), various spreads and marmelades. Joan’s girlfriend Aurianne was staying home due to pregnancy, so she did most of the cooking, with us helping only occasionally. The dishes were remarkable - fresh, local, organic, most of them vegetarian, such as ratatouille, chickpea burgers or vegetable salads, sometimes with an optional sausage or pâté for those craving some meat. And of course always a cheese snack afterwards :)
After work, there was a lot of activities to choose from - rock climbing, hiking, sightseeing (such as local castle or neighboring town), swimming, spa etc. As mentioned before, Joan let us modify our helping schedule after mutual agreement.
I would like to once again thank Joan and his family for their hospitality - great food, safe shelter and last but not least long discussions about culture, food, mechanical engineering etc.. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to enjoy a vacation in lovely countryside and generally slow down from fast paced everyday life.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

We learnt so much stuff from different field. Everything, without exception, was super interesting, we had so much pleasure to discover and help.
Joan is good at explaining and is a very good instructor, very patient. Never hesitate to say you didn't understand a thing or you're afraid to use this tool.

… read more weeks and were almost autonomous at the end of the first week, which was very satisfying, flowing.
Auriane and Joan have a clear and precise project, they know what they're doing which is very helping because you know what you're building. They make you feel you're trustworthy and working good and it is very important for a good group dynamic! And both are funny, really funny!
The landscapes are CRAZY, you see the mountains all around you, a medieval castle, there are a lot of summit to climb near the house.
Auriane made very tasteful vegetarian food, and both of the place we slept in, a tent and then a bedroom, were very comfy.
