  **NO CURRENT AVAILABILITY AS OF MARCH 2024. ** LAST MINUTE REQUESTS ENCOURAGED! Looking for more housesit in my en suite bedroom and look after a cat. You will share the 3bedroom with my one tenant (fun 21 year old who works with me at my gallery)
  
  Please ONLY apply for this if you have owned cats or worked at a cat facility. Like, actually familiar with and LOVE cats. This is imperative. You will have to do basically no physical work other than mow the lawn every 2 weeks (easy battery powered mower).
  
  I just need someone to be kind to a year old kitten. This means letting him out to play and also letting him sleep in the room with you. He has auto feeder, water fountains, etc. It is very low maintenence everything is automated (other than flushable litter which needs to be checked daily).
  
  This isn’t “I love cats on Instagram” like you must physically ACTUALLY LOVE CATS. I just came back from a month and his litter (he has 3 boxes so its easier) all over flowing, water filthy (only changes needed once a week) none of his wet food was ever given. I have spent the last month having to fix urinary inflammation, anxiety and depression and paid out the ass at the vet for all these behavioral issue because of neglect. HE IS SO FRIGGIN EASY all he wants to do is follow you from room to room and eat treats and catch cockroaches. If you let him out to play you wont even have litter to scoop!
  
  I appreciate the yard being cut once or twice a month if it starts to get really long but it’s pretty simple. If you get bored and feel like painting empty spaces with murals you’re more than welcome.

  ****USUAL IN-TOWN PROFILE IS AS FOLLOWS*
  
  I'm Robin, a San Diego, California transplant living in New Orleans on and off since before Hurricane Katrina. I’m a global wanderer and general unicorn. I’ve been a long term backpacker my whole life, with too many countries under my belt to mention without sounding like bragging. I am no ageist, I feel about 25 and welcome people all ages, races, preferences. 420 friendly. Entheogen friendly.
  
  So what’s going on with me…. I am slow working on exterior home beautification. This is an excellent set up for nomads working/studying remotely or foreigners visiting New Orleans on an extended trip. It’s a unique and comfortable house for to relax! I definitely prefer flexible shorter term visitors with the option of extending but am open to all.
  
  You will have your own room either with a king bed and en suite bathroom or queen room with detached bath, depending on if you’re a couple or your skill set. I have two bicycles for use as well. Plenty of parking space and even RV space and electric hookup in backyard.
  
  The one thing that is IMPERATIVE is that you have current means of financial support. This is not a place to stay because you’ve got nowhere to go. I’ve had many problems with people (specifically Americans under 25) in precarious situations where they run out of money and I have to bail them out or they get sucked into the 24/7 New Orleans drinking life . My best experiences are with digital nomads or short stay foreign travelers. For this reason, I don’t expect much, you’re more like a Couchsurfing guest who helps encourage me to accomplish things.
  
  I want to beautify the back and front yard with murals and SUPER simple landscaping like gravel/mulch/weed removal or raised beds with small front yard community garden. Basic carpentry skills like fixing door or window frames or making simple raised one panel shutters would be my absolute dream workaway. If you can do that I will give you my first born.
  
  If you are a muralist or are interested in learning PLEASE hit me up! I’ve got a lot of paint, a projector and a ton of space to get creative. I will absolutely feed you if committing to this project.
  
  I REALLY hate the tiny front yard and want to dig it up and lay gravel/lava rock and some very low maintenence plants. Or raised beds. If you do any of this I would be thrilled. I don’t require or expect hours, it’s more project based so total flexibility for you. I want it to feel like your home for your stay, not like a job.
  
  LastLy, if you aren’t familiar with any of these things, the entire house needs power washing and a second layer of paint too so if you don’t have skills mentioned about this is a great opportunity for anyone with hands and the ability or turn on a hose or climb a ladder 😂 haha. I always help out along side my workaways (unless you want alone time with projects) because I also like to learn and I feel awkward delegating people to just do stuff for me. This is an exchange, not a job and I appreciate your time!
  
  If you are just a short stay, you can do a simple painting touch up or gardening task like lawn mowing, super boring and I feel guilty asking but I really love travel exchange and prefer to do it this way than rent the room. Room goes for $85-100 on bnb a night so it’s not a bad trade.
  
  My neighborhood is fascinating and awesome with a rich culture history and unique mix of people so do a little research on New Orleans and the area called "Treme" (there is also a great HBO show set in this neighborhood called Treme) to make sure it is a good fit for you! If you’ve never travelled a developing country or come from a sheltered suburb this neighborhood and city might not be the place for you. New Orleans is very…involved…people love to talk to each other and my neighbors are sometimes all up in your business in a friendly way. It’s generally pretty entertaining but can be a nuisance if you’re not accustomed to people holler at you from down the street and wanting to meet you.
  
  As this is a loose arrangement without schedule or set hours expectations so I don’t I provide food (loop back to the you need to be financially prepared). But I do have all your kitchen basics like oil, spices, sugar, coffee, milk, tea and always happy to share what I do have. People who have contributed way more than my expectations, I do generally buy for.
  
  High speed wifi with fire tv and many channels. Outdoor patio and porch, lots of street and behind gate parking. And there is a professional MASSAGE CHAIR!

  3 bedroom house. Two rooms are fully furnished and available. Last room has a modern futon but functions more a a naturally well lit yoga & project studio small office with a desk workspace.
  
  Bikes included, it is a quick 5 min bike ride/20 minute walk to the French Quarter.
  
  You will have your own bedroom with a bathroom or a bedroom with bath outside it depending on who is here at the time. Both are very comfortable. King and queen bed. Usually I take the little bed in the project room if house is full.
  I have washer/dryer, WIFI w/Netflix, hulu, HBO.
  Off street parking.
