Anna was a great help for our family. She looked after our baby girl so well. It was great to know that I could go away for a few hours and my children would be in safe hands.
Anna quietly got all her household tasks done. She even did some extra bits of cleaning.
Anna is a lovely person.

I highly recommend spending time in the serene and picturesque Irish countryside with this warm and welcoming family. It's an opportunity to unwind, contribute, improve your English, and immerse yourself in Irish culture.

… read more with household cleaning. Fiona always provided clear instructions, which were immensely helpful. The family is incredibly kind and communicative. I was particularly inspired by Fiona and James' nurturing parenting style—they are patient, kind, and wise with their children.
Ríona is an adorable and curious baby with a radiant smile. While like any baby, she has her moments, she's generally content with attention. It was a joy looking after her. Róisín and Caoimhe, the lively and cheerful sisters, are good friends who adore playing together and with their little sister. The family dynamics are affectionate and heartwarming.
I usually had weekends free. When I wanted weekdays off to travel two or three times, Fiona was accommodating, allowing me to make up the time on weekends without issue. They were also generous with lifts, making sure I could explore nearby Kenmare and beyond. Fiona even arranged transportation from and to Killarney, which was greatly appreciated. I also had access to books through Fiona's library membership.
My accommodations were lovely—a comfortable bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a breathtaking view. The entire house is tastefully decorated and cozy. In my leisure time, I often found myself in the „fancy“ living room, enjoying its comfort and ambiance.
The meals were exceptional thanks to Fiona's culinary skills and the quality ingredients stocked in their kitchen.

If you're looking for a lovely family to spend a great time with, then this is the right place for you.
I spent a month with James and Fiona's family and felt very welcomed from the moment I arrived. Every day was full of surprises, but there was always plenty of good conversation and laughter. The tasks were manageable and included household
… read more tasks as well as childcare. I was very grateful for the trust I was given when taking care of the children.
Róisín und Caoimhe made it really easy for me as they were very open and showed me lots of games. Both are lively and energetic girls with lots of interests, so there is no room for being bored. I will always remember our dance battles 😊 They carry so much love and you can see how much they love their baby sister Ríona. She is a beautiful baby girl and brings a lot of joy into the house. Although the house is a little out of the way, it is gorgeous, and the panoramic view really is a dream. If you like to cook or bake, there is a large kitchen, which I was allowed to use. I was able to expand my baking skills and am glad that you enjoyed it 😊
Fiona and James are very caring and helpful and make it possible to get in touch with other au pairs and meet them in town. The landscape is perfect for walks or hikes (when the weather is good). I always enjoyed the walks with Fiona and Ríona a lot.

JoJo arrived when I was heavily pregnant and my house was in total chaos. She took on every task I gave her with enthusiasm and a willingness to do well. She had the whole house organised for our new arrival and we are so grateful.
When the baby arrived JoJo spent more time with my 6 and 8 year old and they really cherished this time as she gave
… read more them her complete attention and was always coming up with new games to play. It was wonderful to hear all the joy and laughter.
My 6 year old does not like to take instruction and can be impulsive and JoJo managed this very well.
She also took on cooking the family dinner 3 nights a week and she put her heart into everything she cooked. It was wonderful to have a beautiful homecooked dinner on the table.
JoJo is diligent, eager and easy to have around the house. She knew when I needed space but joined in well with the family too. A wonderful person to have around the house

You will experience a warm welcome, great chats and enough quiet time for yourself. I stayed +- 2 months at Fiona and James‘s house helping around with different tasks. When Fiona was still pregnant I helped mostly with organising and cleaning the House.

… read more so blessed to meet their beautiful baby girl Ríona 🥰 one month in to my stay. After her joining the family, my tasks included more childminding which I really enjoyed!
Let me talk about Roisin and Caoimhe:
Roisin is such an adorable soul! She loves dancing, acting, fashion and doing arts and crafts. She is very polite and attentive! She is the definition of great big sister.
Caoimhe on her side is full of energy and creativity and will for sure make you laugh a lot! She loves playing outside and doing competitive games. Once she warmes up to you, you will get to know the most caring and sweet girl.
I also got to do some cooking even though it wasn’t always the best! 😂 But Fiona and James let me possibility to expand my cooking skills and being creative in the kitchen! Thank you for that. To the accommodation: the house is just gorgeous. You get a big, airy and light room with a bathroom for yourself. I will miss waking up to a truly amazing view of the mountains and the sea (I’m not exaggerating).
The house is quite rural and the next town is 20 min away. So you must like peace of the countryside. James and Fiona always made sure that I get a lift to Kenmare so that I can meet up with other Aupairs, which I’m really grateful for :)
If the weather is good you can do lots of hikes (the have a bicycle too) in this area.
Fiona is such a great cook. She always makes sure you have a healthy and yummy dinner. The fridge was always full of good food!
James is farming outside of his job. Due to the weather and paperwork I couldn’t join him, but would have loved to! I also got to walk their farming dogs Cara and Misty.
Overall a it was a few experience and felt more like helping then working.
