Hello travelers, I'm Ari. Three years ago, my little family and I embarked on a dream: owning a hostel on the Pacific coast in the small town of Canoa, Ecuador. We spent almost a year rebuilding, as the house is made of wood and bamboo, and we wanted to preserve the unique character of its architecture, so characteristic of the town. The hostel was reborn, brimming with dreams and aspirations. We strive to offer eco-friendly tourism. We have a garden with palm trees and plants, surrounded by hammocks. Maintaining plants by the sea is challenging, but with effort, it's possible. We welcome volunteers as members of the family. It's not just about working; it's important to feel comfortable, care for the place, and consider this hostel your home while you're here. Come and be a part of our family.

Hola viajeros, soy Ari. Hace tres años empezamos con mi pequeña famiia a vivir un sueño de tener un hostal frente al pacífico en el pueblito de Canoa Ecuador. Pasamos casi 1 año en reconstrucción, ya que la casa es de madera y bambú y queríamos mantener el alma de su arquitectura que es muy peculiar en todo el pueblo. El albergue renació lleno de sueños y ilusiones. Tratamos de enfocar un turismo amable con la naturaleza, tenemos un jardín con palmeras, plantas rodeado de hamacas por todo lado. Tú ayuda es en elmantenimiento básico de las áreas sociales, recibir a los huéspedes, si sabes crear conetinido para las redes sociales y poner el toque decorativo con pintura o dibujos artísticos.
Al voluntario lo recibimos como un integrante más en la familia. No es sólo trabajar, es importante sentirse bien y cuidar y sentir el albergue como su hogar mientras esta viviendo aquí. Ven y forma parte de nuestro hogar.

The hostel welcomes visitors from all over the world: families, surfers, adventurers. Volunteers have the opportunity to meet many people, exchange cultural knowledge, and, above all, immerse themselves in the daily lives of the locals.
There are many places to visit: excursions to caves, horseback riding, bike routes, and opportunities to learn about the local cuisine. Sometimes fishermen invite you to go fishing on their boats. There are coffee and cacao farms, a craft brewery with attractions about a 10-minute drive away, and many farms offering sustainable tourism.
Canoa is a small fishing village where you can experience the spirit of a peaceful town, relax, easily meet the locals, and enjoy good waves for surfing.
On the other hand, volunteers have plenty of free time to dedicate to whatever interests them. We only expect responsible work, a positive attitude, honesty, and a collaborative spirit. And if you have artistic talent or know how to make nice Reels for social media, we would be very happy if you helped us to publicize the hostel and the little town of Canoa.

El albergue llegan visitantes de todo el mundo: familias, surfistas, aventureros. El voluntario tiene la oportunidad de conocer a mucha gente e intercambiar conocimientos culturales y sobre todo integrarse en la vida cotidiana de la gente local.
Hay muchos lugares por visistar, excursiones a las cuevas, paseos a caballo, rutas en bicicleta, aprender la gastronomía local. A veces los pescadores les invitan en sus embarcaciones a pescar, hay granjas con producción de café, producción de cacao, hay una cervecería artesanal con atracciones a unos 10 min en auto y muchas granjas con turismo sostenible.
Canoa es un pueblito pesquero, donde se vive el alma de pueblo tranquilo, relax y la facilidad de conocer a la gente local y buenas olas para practicar el surf.
Por otro lado, el voluntario dispone de mucho tiempo libre que puede dedicar a lo que le interese. Solo esperamos un trabajo responsable, una actitud positiva, honestidad y espíritu de colaboración. Y si tienes talento artístico o sabes hacer lindo Reels para las redes sociales estaremos muy felices que nos ayudes a dar a conocer el albergue y el pueblito de Canoa.

The hostel is an eco-friendly establishment located on the Canoa boardwalk. We are looking for a responsible, friendly, energetic, and creative person. Good communication skills with guests and the staff are essential. You should be creative in generating content for social media. As this is a public space, it's important to maintain a professional appearance and for everyone to contribute to keeping the hostel beautiful. In return, we offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere by the sea, where you can develop your skills, connect with nature, and enjoy an authentic experience. If you'd like to learn to surf, you can also use our board and take care of it as if it were your own. If you have a talent such as yoga or massage and would like to offer these services to guests, we are happy to support such initiatives. If you also work as a digital nomad, this is the perfect place to combine your own work, volunteering, and cultural experience. I look forward to meeting you and having you join the family.
Shifts
Hours and Shifts: I generally work between 3 and 4 hours a day, divided into two hours in the morning around 9:00 am and a maximum of one to two hours in the late afternoon. (That is, in low season it's 3 hours a day because there aren't many guests). You have two days off: Monday and Tuesday.
We organize the shifts among ourselves. There are two permanent staff members: the manager, who lives there and is responsible for everything, and the housekeeper, who is in charge of all the rooms and part of the common areas. Sometimes a gentleman comes to help us with pruning the trees and other difficult tasks.
Actually, the volunteer help is very relaxing. You can watch the reception desk while you're in a hammock, help with the downstairs common areas that are directly exposed to the sea, and while you're in a hammock, you can come up with creative ideas for social media. Our volunteers come for weeks and end up staying for months. That means they really enjoy it, and we always try to make sure the schedules are fair for everyone.

El albergue es un establecimiento ecológico que se encuentra en el malecón de Canoa,cerca de todo y frente al pacífico. Buscamos una persona responsable, amable, buena energía y creativa. Buena comunicación con huéspedes y el equipo de trabajo. Eres creativo para generar contenido para las redes sociales. Al ser un espacio abierto al público, es importante mantener buena presencia y entre todos mantener bonito al hostal.A cambio, ofrecemos un ambiente cercano y familiar frente al mar, donde podrás desarrollar tus habilidades, conectar con la naturaleza y vivir una experiencia auténtica.Si deseas aprender a surfear también puedes usar nuestra tabla y cuidarla como si fuera tuya. Si tienes algún talento como yoga, masajes y quisieras ofrecer tú trabajo a los huéspedes, cuenta con nosotros que estamos encantados de apoyar esas iniciativas. Si trabajas al mismo tiempo como nómada digital, aquí es el lugar perfecto para complementar trabajo propio, voluntariado y experiencia cultural. Estaré encantada de conocerte y que formes parte.

Horas y turnos: Por lo general he hace entre 3 o 4 horas diarias, distribuidas en dos horas por la mañana entre las 9:00 am y una hora máximo dos horas al final de la tarde. (Es decir en temporada baja es 3 horas al día, por que no hay muchos huéspedes). Tienes dos días libres: lunes y martes. Los turnos nos organizamos entre todos.
Hay dos personas fijas. El administrador que vive ahi y es responsable de todo. La camarera que esta encargada de todas las habitaciones y parte de las áreas sociales. Y va aveces un señor que nos ayuda con podar los árboles y las tareas difíciles.
En realidad el trabajo del voluntario es muy relax, mira la recepción mientras estas en la hamaca. Y ayudar con las áreas sociales de abajo que estan expuestas directamente al mar. Y mientras estas en la hamaca puedes buscar ideas creativas para las redes sociales. Nuestros voluntarios vienen por semanas y al final se quedan meses. Eso significa que realmente les gusta y siempre tratamos de que los horarios sean justos para todos.

The hostel is right on the boardwalk, just steps from the waves. If you're alone, the room is all yours. If there's another volunteer, you'll have to share the room, which has two separate bunk beds. It has a beautiful view of the sea and the boardwalk. The bathroom is just outside the room. We have a communal kitchen in the garden, equipped with everything you need. There are social areas like a living room, garden, and balconies filled with hammocks, a terrace with an ocean view, and a lovely café/restaurant open Wednesday through Saturday. You can use our surfboard, but please take care of it.
The exchange includes lodging, internet, basic laundry services, a dryer, use of the social areas, kitchen, living room, terrace, balconies with hammocks, and if you want to surf, you can use our surfboard (but please take care of it). The work is 15 to 20 hours per week. You have Mondays and Tuesdays off. For meals, you'll receive basic food items to prepare your own breakfast.

El albergue está justo en el malecón a pocos pasos de las olas. Si estas sólo la habitación es sólo para tí. Si hay otro voluntario hay que compartir la habitación que tiene dos literas independientes. Una vista preciosa al mar y al malecón. El baño esta saliendo de la habitación. Tenemos una cocina comunal en el jardín, equipada con lo necesario . Hay áreas sociales como sala, jardín y balcones llenas de hamacas por todo lado, una terraza con vista l mar y una linda cafeterí restauran que atienden de miercoles a sábado. Puedes hacer uso de nuestra tabla de surf, pero por favor la cuidas.
En el intercambio esta hospedaje, internet, servicios básicos de lavandería, secadora, uso de las áreas sociales, cocina, sala, terraza, balcones con hamacas por todo lado, y si deseas surfear puedes usar nuestra tabla de surf (pero cuidala por favor). El trabjo es de 15 horas maximo 20 horas a la semana. Tienes lunes y martes libre. Para la comida recibes alimentos básicos para que te prepares el desayuno a tu gusto.

Near Canoa, there are several places to visit. Ten kilometers away is another tourist town, and thirteen kilometers away is a small city with a shopping center and a cinema. Buses run every hour, and transportation is very affordable. There are rural areas where you can cycle. You can also go for a run or take a walk along the beach. Don't miss the beautiful sunsets, which you can enjoy from the terrace or by walking a minute to the beach to witness this magical moment. At the hostel, we have a positive atmosphere and always strive to make both the staff and our volunteers feel comfortable and live in harmony with everyone. We are all part of the family.

Cerca de Canoa hay varios lugares que visitar. A 10 kilómetros hay otro pueblo turístico y a 13 kilómetros hay una pequeña ciudad donde encuentras un centro comercial y cine.. Los autobuses pasan cada hora y el transporte es muy económico.
Hay zonas rurales donde se puede montar en bicicleta. También puede salir a correr o dar un paseo por la playa.
No te pierdas las preciosas puestas de sol que puedes disfrutar desde la terraza o caminando 1 minuto hasta la playa para contemplar ese momento mágico.
En el albergue somos de buena energía y siempre tratamos de que tanto el equipo como nuestros voluntarios se sientan a gusto y vivir en armonía con todo el equipo. Todos formamos parte de la familia.

Este voluntariado es perfecto para los que viajan trabajando en línea. Sólo o en pareja. El hostal es tranquilo, frente al mar, tiene muchos espacios sociales . Despues de tus tareas disponen de mucho tiempo libre para lo que tu deseas hacer o aprender. En pueblito de Canoa tiene una magia que les encanta a los viajeros y de pronto ya se instalan aqui. Ven y conoce.
