This was my first Workaway experience and I am so happy to have chosen Isabel and the family to stay with! I can't recommend them enough. I was with them for only 3 weeks, which I now know is waaay too short a time, I miss them already.
I was welcomed to the family immediately having been picked up from the bus station and it was big hugs right
… read more off the bat. Valentina and Victor quickly overcame any shyness and we started playing and laughing as soon as we got home. These kids are full of love and enthusiasm. Valentina is 8 going on 14 and loves to chat. She's also fun-loving and empathetic and looks after her younger brother. Victor is a free spirit with a very inquisitive mind. I loved working with both of them, even if they were somewhat resistant to English classes. ;P
Isabel is super hospitable and patient. She loves a good laugh and was happy to work with me every day with "Clase de espanol" so I could work on my language skills. I really appreciated that she took the time as it was not something she had to do. Sergio has a great sense of humour and was happy to share knowledge of the area with me.
I think my favourite part was being totally welcomed to any and all activities including cooking, hanging out with their friends, exploring the area and even crashing a family day!
With regards to location and accomodation - I got my own room and bathroom upstairs and felt I had my own space to disappear to if needed, which was nice. In saying that, I spend most of my time with the family, because why wouldn't you? The house is near cafes, shops and a shopping centre and there is a bus to Santander that takes about 20 mins - so easy! I was definately able to entertain myself when I had free time.
Although niether party is fluent in each-others' language, we chatted and laughed and connected easily. I hope Isabel, Sergio, Valentina and Victor all know how grateful I am for sharing their home and lives with me. I had a truly wonerful time.

Mariagrazia estuvo en nuestra casa más de un mes y fue una experiencia maravillosa.
Es una joven muy responsable, atenta, organizada, y con mucha energía. Supo entender las necesidades de nuestros hijos desde el primer momento, y se adaptó a la perfección a sus juegos y ritmos diferentes.

Dos meses después de su estancia, regresó y fue una visita sorpresa para los niños, estuvimos de nuevo encantados con su visita y los niños aún esperan que vuelva a visitarnos. Todos lo esperamos!!!
Estamos seguros que vaya donde vaya, tendrá una gran capacidad para trabajar y adaptarse.

If you have the opportunity to visit this incredible family, don't hesitate! I can't emphasize enough how much I recommend this family and these lovely children. My experience exceeded my expectations. They live in a beautiful village that is well connected to Santander and Somo. They warmly welcomed me, treating me like a genuine family member.
… read more Indeed, I came back to visit them for a week after just two months! The kids are amazing, overflowing with energy, joy, and passion. They can teach you just as much, if not more, than you can teach them!

This family is the most welcoming kind fun family I have met! my month in Spain with them went by so fast and I miss them already! They helped me with my Spanish and I was able to see many cultural parts of the area as well as try all the typical foods! The children and so sweet and very outgoing. I enjoyed teaching English to Sergio and Isabel
