Cecilia went out of her way to ensure that she was caring for our child in the way that felt good to us, I was deeply appreciative of this! … read more was able to leave them to play together (which doesn't always happen). Ailsa enjoyed lots of play time, coloring, watching movies, chats and general support from Cecilia. I felt very comfortable leaving them together, and left them a few times for half a day.
Cecilia was very helpful around the house, and was able to get on with cleaning tasks once I had explained it to her once. Our dogs also loved playing with her! It was a great joy to watch Cecilia become more adventurous and active, taking many trips and lots of walks to the village. It was also a real pleasure to meet her dad on his trip to Ireland too :-) Cecilia is very open minded and non judgmental; the perfect presence to have while I have been pregnant. I was initially concerned about having someone here during this part of pregnancy, but Cecilia put me completely at ease and I felt very supported and listened to. She was also a great help to me once I had passed my driving test, accompanying me on a few trips. Thanks for trusting my driving skills :-)
Overall a really lovely experience, I would recommend Cecilia as a work awayer to any host with children, particularly if children are musical or wishing to learn. We wish you all the luck with your new job and future plans for a masters degree. Look toward hearing how you get on xx

My three months with Rose, Owen, and Ailsa will remain an incredibly special season in my life. This was one of my first workaway experiences and their warmth, kindness, and generosity immediately set me at ease. … read more make the hour walk from the house to Clogher and enjoyed my time there immensely! The daily tasks were communicated very well and were very enjoyable~ I especially loved playing with Ailsa and watching her grow. She is an incredibly smart, kind, and creative young person! I enjoyed many conversations at the kitchen table Rose discussing life, family, and culture, and car rides with Owen learning about his work. I travelled on the weekends to Donegall, Dublin, Belfast, Enniskillen, Derry, and more! I am so grateful to Rose, Owen, and Ailsa (and their dogs Jess and Dozer) for an incredible three months. I miss them already!♥️♥️♥️

Staying with Rose and her families is a peaceful soul exploration journey in 2025. She is always calm, sincere and clearly expressive. I learned how to enjoy nature and talk to nature alone. … read more toddler. As well as helping with childcare, Anna helped out in the house with some cooking and cleaning. She was proficient at both, and always had a go at anything new. Anna was very good at helping me problem solving and helped me work out lots of practical things!!! Anna was quiet in our house which was nice 😊 we really enjoyed our little adventures out, it was easy and fun! I love Aisla’s scope of imagination - I ate so many cakes, and I drunk so much coffee which was prepared by Alisa very carefully from the soil:) - and Alisa’s frequent saying „no matter” will stay in my mind and maybe help with the hard moments:).
Owen has so good-natured personality. He’s very patient and pleasant - thank you very much for showing me how to use a lathe! I admire Owen so much he can recognize each of 64 sheep!

I thouroughly enjoyed her delight in the small things. She left our home looking cleaner and more cared for! We spent a lot of time with Ailsa who is an amazing, quirky and probably the most emotionally and developmentally inteligent 2 year old I have ever met, she was an amazing influence for my daughter Aya, and to me as well, really. It was a blissfull experience to be around her.
Rose is a very feminine, nurturing and powerful human, and became an image of ‘the mother’ in my Brain, it was so lovely to see her ways of raising Ailsa, and this beautiful life that they provided not only to Ailsa but to me and Aya too. She has done really good job in managing workawayers, was very good at communnicating, very pleasant leader to have!
I really enjoyed adventures with her, especially her showing her weird side, and i’m sure we’ll have many more of those adventures.
Even though I didn’t spent much time around Owen, due to his work schedule, we grew a lot of love towards him too, every time He would get back, Aya would be the happiest seeing him, I loved seing Aya with him. Plus he’s a crafty man who can teach you blacksmithing if that’s in your interests!

Monika and I got on very well, and our little one really loved and valued their one to one time together. Monika was really great at looking after the two for a few hours. She also helped me out in the house when she could and cooked lots of delicious meals. She is an amazing baker and chef, and I learnt so much about Lithuanian cuisine. Monika has an adventureous and playful spirit, she is relaxed and the perfect support and companion for trips and adventures outside of the house. Monika is also a super talented artist.
We so enjoyed our time with these two wonderful humans and wish for more adventures and would be more than welcome to stay again . Xx

Lela has a real talent with children, she genuinely cared about our daughter and helped to bring our her imagination even more. Cho was really great with our daughter Ailsa, she took notice of Ailsas interests and provided fun activities that they could both enjoy. Cho was open to feedback and always tried out any suggestions I gave. She was very easy to communicate with.
We had lots of laughter and fascinating discussions around differences in cultures. It was really great to also meet Chos partner Shunny!
Overall Cho is a very courageous, positive and open minded person who we would recommend to any work away host.

Ailsa made my stay truly special with her infectious energy. I very much enjoyed my time reading books, dancing, or just taking a walk in the field. The setting of their home in the gorgeously beautiful countryside, along with the tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings, provided a unique and unforgettable backdrop to my stay.
While it was initially a bit challenging for me to get used to the cultural differences and the farm lifestyle, it turned out to be a truly immersive and unique experience that I will cherish. In summary, Rose, Owen, and Ailsa are a fantastic family, always super considerate and caring. Their warmth, healthy lifestyle, and the beauty of the countryside made my month with them a cherished memory. Thank you very much indeed. Lourdes joined us for a month to help with looking after our little one. It was really great to host her, as it was her first time travelling solo and her first work away family! Lourdes was really interested and enthusiastic about the history and culture here, which we were really happy to share with her. Her tenderness and sensitivity to animals is really beautiful, and I think she would suit any setting supporting animals.
Her bread baking skills were really amazing! It was super nice to hear what she had learnt living with us, even if it was not what she had expected!!
