Anna was an amazing volunteer, she fit in seamlessly into our house hold. Regardless of her little experience with child care, she was a superb carer and helper with our little toddler. She was naturally very gentle, respectful and mindful, as well as being able to be clear and strong with boundaries. She was very much loved by our dogs and our
… read more toddler. As well as helping with childcare, Anna helped out in the house with some cooking and cleaning. She was proficient at both, and always had a go at anything new. Anna was very good at helping me problem solving and helped me work out lots of practical things!!! Anna was quiet in our house which was nice 😊 we really enjoyed our little adventures out, it was easy and fun! Thanks so much Anna, you were fantastic, and we wish you well in your further travels and studies x

The way of living of Rose’s family is so inspiring for me - it’s peaceful and pretty simple, but simple in the best sense of the word - it means that every single walk can be the big experience - behind the tree maybe is a magic path… or a little waterfall in the woods… it can rain, but in the people mind during this walk it’s sunny . I love Aisla’s scope of imagination - I ate so many cakes, and I drunk so much coffee which was prepared by Alisa very carefully from the soil:) - and Alisa’s frequent saying „no matter” will stay in my mind and maybe help with the hard moments:).
Owen has so good-natured personality. He’s very patient and pleasant - thank you very much for showing me how to use a lathe! I admire Owen so much he can recognize each of 64 sheep!

Anna was such a wonderful work away volunteer, she was with us for a short amount of time (2.5 weeks), but our time was so sweet! She was a great all round help with lots of washing up, helping in the house, looking after our daughter and accompanying us on many late summer walking adventures in Clogher valley. Anna was a very mature 18 year old,
… read more I had no doubt about her ability to carry out any tasks with care, attention and mindfulness. She was endlessly curious, full of joy and creative. I thouroughly enjoyed her delight in the small things. She left our home looking cleaner and more cared for! Anna has a marvelous sense of adventure and was always up for an adventure, even when they were sometimes a little challenging. I would highly recommend Anna to any host 😀

We had a very nice time with Rose, Owen and Ailsa. Ailsa is a bright girl, who loves making 'pancakes', play hide and seek and going on a 'hike'. Rose and Owen are very nice and great cooks. They both have many creative and cultural interests.

We spent a lot of time with Ailsa who is an amazing, quirky and probably the most emotionally and developmentally inteligent 2 year old I have ever met, she was an amazing influence for my daughter Aya, and to me as well, really. It was a blissfull experience to be around her.
Rose is a very feminine, nurturing and powerful human, and became an image of ‘the mother’ in my Brain, it was so lovely to see her ways of raising Ailsa, and this beautiful life that they provided not only to Ailsa but to me and Aya too. She has done really good job in managing workawayers, was very good at communnicating, very pleasant leader to have!
I really enjoyed adventures with her, especially her showing her weird side, and i’m sure we’ll have many more of those adventures.
Even though I didn’t spent much time around Owen, due to his work schedule, we grew a lot of love towards him too, every time He would get back, Aya would be the happiest seeing him, I loved seing Aya with him. Plus he’s a crafty man who can teach you blacksmithing if that’s in your interests!

Aya was a super chilled almost toddler, who was such a joy to spend time with, she really lit up our house hold! Monika and I got on very well, and our little one really loved and valued their one to one time together. Monika was really great at looking after the two for a few hours. She also helped me out in the house when she could and cooked lots of delicious meals. She is an amazing baker and chef, and I learnt so much about Lithuanian cuisine. Monika has an adventureous and playful spirit, she is relaxed and the perfect support and companion for trips and adventures outside of the house. Monika is also a super talented artist.
We so enjoyed our time with these two wonderful humans and wish for more adventures and would be more than welcome to stay again . Xx

We enjoyed seeing her illustrations come to life, and she kindly made us a couple too :-) even though lela played down her ability to cook, every dish she created was so delicious!!!! I learnt lots about Italian cuisine and have been inspired to cook more dishes. She shared lots about her culture and we would love to visit her to experience it first hand. Lela has a real talent with children, she genuinely cared about our daughter and helped to bring our her imagination even more. She thought up and carried out lots of creative activities and accompanied us on quite a few adventures. Cho was really great with our daughter Ailsa, she took notice of Ailsas interests and provided fun activities that they could both enjoy. Cho was open to feedback and always tried out any suggestions I gave. She was very easy to communicate with.
We had lots of laughter and fascinating discussions around differences in cultures. It was really great to also meet Chos partner Shunny!
Overall Cho is a very courageous, positive and open minded person who we would recommend to any work away host.

… read more consideration for others is heartwarming, and it's easy to see why your heart would melt in her presence with loads of laughter and hugs from her.
Ailsa made my stay truly special with her infectious energy. I very much enjoyed my time reading books, dancing, or just taking a walk in the field. The setting of their home in the gorgeously beautiful countryside, along with the tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings, provided a unique and unforgettable backdrop to my stay.
While it was initially a bit challenging for me to get used to the cultural differences and the farm lifestyle, it turned out to be a truly immersive and unique experience that I will cherish. In summary, Rose, Owen, and Ailsa are a fantastic family, always super considerate and caring. Their warmth, healthy lifestyle, and the beauty of the countryside made my month with them a cherished memory. Thank you very much indeed. Lourdes joined us for a month to help with looking after our little one. It was really great to host her, as it was her first time travelling solo and her first work away family! She quickly adapted to our living environment and was able to communicate clearly and express boundaries around what felt right for her, which I was very appreciative of.
… read more Our little one really loved her (and has been asking for her since she left!!). Lourdes was really interested and enthusiastic about the history and culture here, which we were really happy to share with her. Her tenderness and sensitivity to animals is really beautiful, and I think she would suit any setting supporting animals.
Her bread baking skills were really amazing! It was super nice to hear what she had learnt living with us, even if it was not what she had expected!! Overall Lourdes is a kind and respectful individual who genuinely cares about out planet, creatures and people's, if you are wanting someone who will bring a lot of love to your project then I'm sure she'll be the person for you :-)
