  I’m Joseph, currently based in the heart of vibrant downtown Athens. I work in the arts; as an artist, photographer, curator, and art dealer, and often collaborate with galleries and art fairs around Europe. I also work with crypto software and trading; on top of that I have a remote office job/project, so my days can get quite busy!
  
  That’s why we thought having volunteers over is a great exchange: you get to enjoy an inspiring stay in the center of Athens, and I get a bit of help keeping the house organized, tidy, help with projects and full of good energy.
  
  My apartment is a typical artsy New York-style loft in Psyri, one of the most dynamic and creative neighborhoods in Athens. It’s packed with character, street art, history, and energy, and everything is right on your doorstep: the Acropolis is within walking distance, the ancient Agora, Monastiraki, Plaka, and the liveliest bars, restaurants, and nightlife in the city are literally minutes away. You’re in the middle of it all, yet the loft itself feels like a calm creative sanctuary.
  
  You’ll share the space with me and my girlfriend (a dancer who teaches movement, choreographies, yoga and more, she goes back and forward between Barcelona- Athens ). We love a relaxed atmosphere, creativity, good food, and meaningful conversations. If you’re a good cook, that’s a big plus, I always appreciate someone who enjoys preparing tasty meals.
  
  I think you’ll fall in love with Athens’ electric yet easy-going rhythm, the mix of 2,500-year-old history and cutting-edge street culture, the buzzing neighborhoods, the Mediterranean warmth, and the endless things to discover just by stepping outside. You’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like, as long as there’s mutual respect, good vibes, and a bit of help around the house.

  Staying here is a mix of relaxation, creativity, and cultural exchange. I work in the art world so there’s always something interesting happening and info to talk about. If you’re interested in art, photography, or the creative process, you’ll definitely find inspiration and things to learn here.
  
  I’m happy to share my knowledge about art, curation, photography, and even crypto if that’s something that sparks your curiosity. I’ve lived and worked in different countries (around 30 or more so far) so I love exchanging stories and perspectives about culture, travel, and personal projects.
  
  My girlfriend is very friendly and social , she’s a dancer and teaches movement, choreographies, yoga and all related. When she is in town we usually cook, go out for dinner, explore the city, or just chill with good music and wine. You’ll be welcome to join us for these moments if you wish and meet some of our friends.
  
  Athens is an incredibly welcoming city with a strong sense of community, ancient roots, and modern creative pulse. You can explore traditional tavernas, street-art-filled alleys, world-class museums, local markets, and of course the Acropolis and ancient sites that make this city legendary. I can point you to some of my favorite local spots; places tourists rarely find.

  Ajuda

  The help I’m looking for is quite simple and flexible, mostly keeping the house tidy and organized. I’m usually very busy so having an extra set of hands makes a big difference.
  
  Typical tasks include things like organizing a bit around the apartment. If you enjoy cooking, that’s a huge bonus, I really appreciate when someone likes to prepare meals or share their favorite recipes. If you have something specific to offer i am open minded to hear it too
  
  Depending on your interests, there could also be opportunities to help with creative projects, for example, assisting with photography, edits, helping organize art projects, or brainstorming ideas. If you know social media / marketing I’m also needing to revamp my accounts and sincerely haven’t got the time! I enjoy exchanging skills and learning from others, so if you have something creative or practical to share, even better!
  
  We’ll definitely spend some time together, especially during meals or relaxed evenings. But you’ll also have plenty of space and time to explore the city, wander the neighborhoods, catch live music, go to the beach or just enjoy the vibrant rhythm of Athens. The goal is to create a comfortable environment for everyone , one that feels like home, but with the whole city right outside our door.

  I’d love to do a language exchange! I speak Spanish and English fluently, and I have some knowledge of French, Italian and Portuguese. Maria speaks fluent Russian and Ukranian also of course English we’d be happy to help you practice or improve any of those languages.

  Acomodação

  The accommodation is a cozy, artsy New York-style loft in Psyri, Athens. It’s a comfortable, clean and inspiring home with everything you need, high ceilings, character, and that creative loft feeling.
  
  Workawayers will have their own sofa bed in the living room, but the space can be fully closed off at night with a door, making it private and quiet, almost like having your own room. You’ll have access to the full kitchen, bathroom, and the big window area where you can relax or have your morning coffee.
  
  As for food, we can share meals sometimes when our schedules align, I enjoy good food and conversation! Otherwise, you’ll be free to cook your own meals in the kitchen. If you enjoy cooking, even better. It’s a simple but warm home ideal for someone who loves art, city energy, culture, and the buzzing yet laid-back Athenian lifestyle.

  Psyri and the surrounding area offer so much to explore during your free time. You’re walking distance to the Acropolis, the ancient sites, street-art alleys, rooftop bars, traditional tavernas, live music venues, and all the fun of downtown Athens. The neighborhood itself is full of cafés, galleries, and hidden gems , perfect for slowing down or diving into the nightlife.
  In your time off you can wander around Plaka, Koukaki or any of the other amazing neighborhoods, charming streets mixed with modern Athens energy, grab a coffee in a hidden square, or take day trips to the sea the Athens riviera is one train away, or take the ferry to nearby islands if you feel like it. Local buses and the metro are super easy and stops are very close, like 2 minutes walking away
  As for the house, it’s a relaxed and respectful environment.
  
  I work a lot (sometimes from home, sometimes outside) so I appreciate calm energy and people who are independent, clean, and considerate.
  A few simple house guidelines:
  
  Keep shared spaces tidy and clean after use.
  Respect quiet hours, especially at night.
  Be kind to the cats in the neighborhood, they’re easygoing but part of the community.
  No smoking inside, please.
  Open communication and good vibes are always welcome!
  
  If you love creativity, city pulse, ancient history, and great energy, you’ll feel right at home here. The idea is to create a balance, you help a bit around the house, and in return you get to live in one of the most exciting and beautiful parts of Athens.
