Our family lives on a remote homestead in Central Yukon, located on the McQuesten River 125 km from the nearest communities of Dawson City and Mayo. We have a small mixed farm with horses, goats, chickens, pigs and bees, hay fields, a garden, greenhouse and berry patch. In the spring we make syrup and in the summer we harvest trees for firewood and lumber which we make on our mill, all of which lead in to carpentry and construction projects. The projects are varied depending on the season. We love living in the wild and remote boreal forest and sharing that with others, we welcome anyone willing to help into our family. (Workaway projects will help with our private home/garden and not with our commercial business making birch syrup).

We welcome helpers to join our family hiking, fishing, canoeing and getting out into the wilderness around us, and we can share our years of experience and stories living here. We like to hear people's stories and experiences from the places that they come from, people really bring the world to us. We like sharing local foods and experiencing different flavours from other places.

Ajuda
The help we need depends on the time of year and the weather. There are gardens , greenhouses and fields to be planted, tended and harvested, trees to be harvested and milled or processed into firewood, construction and maintenance projects, animals to care for, and wild harvest from the forest. We are interested in hosting anyone enthusiastic to experience this way of life and learn and share skills.

We have a guest cabin or framed wall tents for guests and helpers to stay. We eat all our meals together.

Generally we work together in the daytime, so if their online work fits into the early morning or evening it is possible.

Our farm is 14 km off the main highway, it is a dirt track so good clearance is necessary and 4 wheel drive is necessary in some seasons.
