I just wanted to say what a truly magical time myself and my two children Archie and Rissie (9 year old twins) had in Uzzano with Fabrizia, Maurizio, Arianna and Leonardo. Of course I cannot forget the extended family of Alessio, Giuia and Dario & Oriano. We were welcomed like family and experienced a wonderful time. It was only our second
… read more experience of doing a Workaway exchange and we cannot speak more highly of it. The self-contained apartment we stayed in was in the same village and near enough for the kids to run downstairs. The apartment had everything we needed and also had spectacular views. Fabrizia provided us with a car which was wonderful in allowing us to maintain our independence and enjoy the beauty of the area. Fabrizia was great at clarifying what she needed from us and we established a three afternoon week where we would help with the kids after school and through dinner time along with a nanny.
On the weekends we spent time with the family sometimes at home, sometimes at the Podera, sometimes having the most wonderful adventures. The main requirement of this rather large and gorgeous family is that there is constant English spoken to allow the kids (and adults) to have the opportunity to have constant English practice and even if the kids are not speaking it to be able to listen to. We stayed with Fabrizia, Maurizio and their amazing family for 6 weeks and it was without a doubt the highlight of our trip. We could not have been made to feel welcome or more like family than we were. It was very sad to leave as we felt like we had become such good friends and we hope to return one day or for them to visit us in Australia.
If you are easy going and have a happy disposition, like to laugh and love speaking English to a gorgeous group of Italians (the loveliest people I have ever met) then I cannot recommend this workaway enough.

We met Leigh last April for our first experience. We are so pleased to say that we met a wonderful person: she is a chearful, pleasant and happy lady!
We passed such lovely days together that we look forward to seeing her again.
Our children keep asking for her; they remember the lovely moments they spent with her.

… read more opportunity to explore the area, and also being taken to the seaside. The apartment is exquisite with a beautiful view and privacy guaranteed in the time off.
