  Hello Workawayers,
  I am Karim, a 42 year old single parent to a lovely 9 year old daughter, Lena. I am originally from Egypt and have been living in Spain for the past 11 years. I call this place home now after visiting more that 40 countries for work/travels. I speak English as a first language and i am fully fluent in Arabic and Spanish. Currently learning some German and French too.
  
  I am an Engineer by profession and I love using my skills to design and build things around the property. I am also an animal and plant lover and I always try to maintain a good balance between being a father and taking care of the property. I am also a good chef and had my own restaurant in Santander for 6 years offering the best vegan/vegetarian food along side meat dishes too. I come from a very rich culinary background and I have my mother to thank for that! Nothing beats Mommy´s food!!!
  
  I work as a freelancer in the offshore industry and i usually have a work contract from March till September. During my "working months" I travel for 2 weeks and then I am at home with my daughter for 2 weeks and so on.
  
  I have been a workawayer myself for some time in South America and now as a host, I would like to welcome beautiful souls to enjoy, help and maintain the good energy around here.
  
  My house is on top of a hill, 1 min away (by car) from Liérganes (listed as one of the most beautiful towns in Spain). This house was an old stone house in ruins used for cattle and was completely reconstructed by a noble woman with so much love, passion and detail. This woman dedicated 17 years of her life to create all this beauty around and I consider myself very lucky to be chosen by her to continue her dream.

  Acomodação

  One of the biggest projects completed in 2025, was placing a Caravan on the land and building a private terrace for it. In the terrace there is a shower (with hot water and beautiful views), outdoor kitchen and a flushing toilet. It is an independent house with fridge, washing machine etc. It is completely fenced off with vegetation around, ensuring your privacy and comfort. The caravan has a double bed with a window viewing the mountain range and a bunk bed (sleeps 4 in total). It keeps the heat well and it has a small radiator for the colder months. The terrace also has a sitting area with magnificent views over the mountains and breathtaking sunsets.

  Lierganes is listed as one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. It is 1 min by car or 15min walk. Walking in town is like being in a fairy tale. There is beauty everywhere you look and great traditional restaurants too.
  If you like the mountains we live at the beginning of the "Valles Pasiegos", a beautiful valley with an incredible mountain range.
  There is an magical river just a few minutes by car or bike, with crystal clear unpolluted waters. There are spots with deep pools for swimming and enjoying the mountain view in the background. Just Heavenly!!
  Or maybe the beach? Somo and Langre are one of the most famous surf beaches in Spain and only 20 mins by car. Santander is 20mins away. In Lierganes theres also a train that goes to Santander every hour.
  If you dont have a car, my bicycle can be used to move around.

  We are lucky to have fiber optic internet connection. The wifi works well.

  Camper vans can park at the entrance of the house giving them direct access to a shared kitchen, toilet and hot shower.

  Only pets that are ok with cats, chickens, sheep and other dogs please. There is a dog that lives here and does not get along well with other dogs. She is ok with some dogs, and with others not.
