I'm a curative teacher, my husband has his own horticultural business, we both work in the city of Bern. We are 62 and 65 years old, our two daughters moved out. We have been living in a beautiful old house in the country for 9 years. Our large garden supplies us with so many vegetables and fruits that we hardly have to go shopping any more. We cultivate the garden organically and are based on permaculture. We are working on further projects to develop a sustainable, versatile habitat with high biodiversity.
In addition to German, we both speak English, French and Spanish, but all of them not so well.
Ich bin Heilpädagogin, mein Mann hat ein eigenes Gartenbaugeschäft, wir arbeiten beide in der Stadt Bern. Wir sind 62 und 65jährig, unsere beiden Töchter sind ausgezogen. Seit 9 Jahren wohnen wir in einem wunderschönen alten Haus auf dem Land. Unser grosser Garten liefert uns soviel Gemüse und Früchte, dass wir kaum mehr einkaufen müssen. Den Garten bewirtschaften wir biologisch und orientieren uns an der Permakultur. Wir arbeiten an weiteren Projekten um einen nachhaltigen, vielfältig nutzbaren Lebensraum mit hoher Biodiversität zu entwicklen.
Wir sprechen beide nebst deutsch auch englisch, französisch und spanisch, aber beides nicht so gut.

We run our garden according to permaculture principles and we both have many years of experience in growing vegetables. Now in autumn it's all about harvesting, storing or preparing for winter storage. We would like to refresh and improve our language skills in English or Spanish while working together. The Unesco city of Bern offers a lot to discover, the cultural offer is also diverse. Our house is in the east of Bern. You can reach Bern main station in 30 minutes by bike or train, and it usually takes less by car. We can provide a bike. It's not far from us to the mountains in the Bernese Oberland. We both know our way around there and can make hiking suggestions.
We are mostly cooking vegetarian or vegan Food
Unsern Garten betreiben wir nach Permakulturprinzipien und wir haben beide langjährige Erfahrung beim Gemüseanbau. Jetzt im Herbst geht es vor allem ums Ernten, Einlagern oder Aufbereiten für die Winterlagerung. Gerne würden wir bei der gemeinsamen Arbeit unsere Sprachkenntnisse in englisch oder spanisch auffrischen und verbessern.
Die Unesco-Stadt Bern bietet Vieles zu Entdecken, das kulturelle Angebot ist auch vielfältig. Unser Haus liegt im Osten von Bern. Mit Velo und Zug erreicht man den Hauptbahnhof Bern in 30 Minuten, mit dem Auto braucht man meist weniger lang. Ein Velo können wir zur Verfügung stellen.
Von uns aus ist es auch nicht weit zu den Bergen ins Berner Oberland. Wir beide kennen uns dort recht gut aus und können Wandervorschläge machen.

Actualy we are looking for people who help us on our small Openair/Festival

We could use some help picking apples, we have big old apple trees and we also pick the fruit from the ladder. In the garden we need help with harvesting, tending and weeding, possibly also with boiling down the fruits and vegetables. Housework involves larger jobs such as cleaning windows or cleaning floors. It's not about everyday cleaning and tidying up.
Wir könnten Hilfe brauchen beim Äpfel ernten.Wir haben alte grosse Apfelbäume und pflücken die Früchte auch von der Leiter aus. Im Garten brauchen wir Hilfe beim Ernten, Pflegen und Jäten, eventuell auch beim Einkochen der Früchte und Gemüse.
Bei Hausarbeiten geht es um grössere Arbeiten wie Fenster Putzen oder Böden Reinigen, und um Hilfe beim alltäglichen Kochen, putzen und aufräumen.

Acomodação
Our old farmhouse has a large attic room on the 2nd floor, with its own balcony and a sink. An office, an extra kitchen and Bathroom can be used on the 1st floor. My husband and I mainly live on the ground floor.
Unser altes Bauernhaus hat ein grosses Dachzimmer im 2.Stock, mit eigenem Balkon und mit einem Brünnli. Im 1. Stock kann ein Büro, eine extra Küche und Bad benutzt werden.
Mein Mann und ich wohnen hauptsächlich im Erdgeschoss.

Our house is in beautiful surroundings with hills and forests and farming villages. You can be in Bern in 30 minutes by bike or train. Bern is a famous old city, it has been listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Bern also has a large cultural offering. It's not far from us to travel to the Bernese Oberland. We can make you many hiking suggestions.
Unser Haus liegt in einer wunderschönen Umgebung mit Hügeln und Wäldern und Bauerndörfern. Mit Velo und Zug bist du in 30 Minuten in Bern. Bern ist eine berühmte alte Stadt, sie ist als Unesco-Welterbe ausgezeichnet. Bern hat auch ein grosses kulturelles Angebot.
Von uns aus ist es auch nicht weit um ins Berner Oberland zu reisen. Wir können dir viele Wandervorschläge machen.
